Your posts continue to amaze me. There is so much fail here I don't know where to begin. I will address the notion that it's better to draft unproven, undeveloped and immature rookies and expecting to win a championship with them as soon as they get here. THAT'S WRONG You want to see what drafting rookies year after year gets you....Memphis Grizzlies.
Why would we not plan for NOW when we have nearly all the peices for NOW and the future! Im not saying Lee is the next best thing if we cant get Bosh! But he is better than ur choices because it takes rookie big guys way longer to come into their own! Lee is already there!!
Thunder got Lucky with Kevin Durant. No one expected him to be THIS good. Blazer have a ton of money A TON to throw at players close to ending their rookie contacts and they can't even get past the first round. Bulls? ROFLMAO!!!! They aren't even close to being contenders and they sucked their way to get Derrick Rose.
Whether you want to admit or not, all three are franchises that are on the upswing. Did the Thunder get lucky with Russel Westbrook and Jeff Green? Harden's been starting for them at SG all year and they're in contention for a top four seed. That's pretty damn impressive. They have drafted extremely well for the most part, but yes landing a top three pick helps. The Blazers have also been hurt all year and despite that still remain in the playoffs. Aldridge has really come into his own this year, especially when Roy has been hurt. When Oden was playing, they were one of the best teams in the league. The Blazers, when healthy, are also a damn good team. The Bulls have made some mistakes along the way in their trades, but they've got a solid core moving forward now through their draft picks. Derrick Rose, Luol Deng, Joakim Noah, Taj Gibson are all playing great for them, AND they have room to add a FA (because they built through the draft and not by trading for expensive role players.) I'm not saying it's the right way to go necessarily for us, but Brian Chapman does have a point. I don't think it's right to say "I will address the notion that it's better to draft unproven, undeveloped and immature rookies and expecting to win a championship with them as soon as they get here. THAT'S WRONG." You have to let a team develop. If we draft a rookie that doesn't help us win a championship next year, but helps us win one in two years, who cares? We can't afford to be in win-now mode trading off our draft picks -- we have to have a backup plan in case Yao can't come back. It's just not smart to keep trading away lottery picks for expensive role players. Trading them for an established star is one thing, but not for any more Battier types. We need to start looking at the present and future.
Maybe I don't want a go-to guy. We've tried egotistical ball-stoppers. It didn't work, and what's more, it sucks to watch. I'd like to try a well-balanced team offense. To get Bosh or Stoudemire, we're going to have to give up core young players. Do you want to do that? I don't. I'd prefer a well-balanced team of very good players.
Last I checked Bosh is a very good player! I see what ur saying! I dont wanna see the guys we have now get traded! It hurts enough to lose landry! But in the whole skeem of things, getting Bosh would make us a MUCH better team!!
Yes but the difference here is Amar'e has worked with Nash, he's not someone that goes crazy if he doesn't get the ball every single time. He wants to win also, why do you think he stopped the trade going to Philly? As for Bosh...not a ball-stopper. Well if we have to give up Scola/Battier For Amare that's not really Core young players...Ariza/Chase will fill in for SF and Amar'e will just replace Scola. If we are trading Brooks to Toronto then we can replace him with Lowry. How good is a well-balanced team going to be? I think the only time teams are willing to go over the luxury is if they know they can contend for sure. Because Championship teams bring back a lot of good business Does Brooks Martin Ariza Lee Yao Is that a 100% legit contender? Vs Brooks/Lowry Martin Ariza Bosh/Amar'e Yao Either of those two filling in PF IMO makes this team 100% a contender. Also Great coaches deal with Ego's and attitudes. Look at Phil Jackson, he had to go through Jordan...Pippen...AND Rodman! Larry Brown...Sheed, Ben Wallace both have ego's supposedly Doc Rivers says his team is full of personalities. Look at what Phil is doing now, he wanted Artest, despite Bynum and Kobe having Ego's. IMO great coaches deal with Ego's because a lot of the best players have huge Ego's...
If we cant get bosh, obvoiusly the next best big that could be a game changer would be Amar'e. But considering hes going to want max max money which only a stupid team like the nets would drop on a guy who had RD and microfracture that leaves Boozer also one of the better powerforwards. Yeah hes from the Jazz and it bugs me but hes a beast, hes been putting up good numbers and is strong enough to hold the Center position down as well. other than that we could try to sign J'oneal to be a relief center, hes not bad, i could see scola with Yao starting and J oneal coming off the bench as a back center and then perhaps even jeffries and O neal playin the 4 and 5. defensively that looks good and even rebounding wise. But it depends honestly what teams are willing to pay for the lower rung bigs.
I just don't see why. While a Yao/Bosh/Martin or Yao/A'mare/Martin team would do very well during the regular season and be extremely intimidating, both scenarios seem to me to produce a paper tiger team that may get to the WCF but not likely get to the Finals or win a championship.
