Yes they are. The only difference is the person they sent down to earth to tell his or her message. When you are an omnipotent being, you have to create a specific person to spread the message? Couldn't they just send an email or a message in everyone's sleep to stop being a dick?

 

Yep eventually religion will be a thing of the past that people will scratch their heads and wonder why anyone would agree to hand over 10% of their income, tell all their secrets, and believe all the wild stories in some old book just because a bunch of child molesters in robes told them too.

The thing is they don’t need to buy the “religious stories” as the ultra wealthy can already control the masses. I do believe in God but religion has always been a tool to control a majority of people and it’s no longer needed for that purpose.
