If trade demands never leaked out... I'd like this off-season a lot.

Here was why I was ok with losing Covington. He was the player that CP3 hunted in the okc series.

If we are switching small ball, if he is a player CP3 can take 1 v 1, he is not the optimal small ball 5. In that case, a more traditional bigger body is what I'd want... Especially with extra picks...I can live with that.

Yes, our roster sucks, we have no depth and we are gambling yet again this season.

I don't care if RoCo is the second coming of Josh Smith, we need someone to shoot them 3s and I don't want it to be Russ.

Reggie Jackson or Napier for backup point guard.

I mean, is CP even relevant? We beat his team and now he's on a worse team.

If that's all we are worried about I'd keep him. His services are very sought after in the league.

I don't think we've done nearly enough. We've retooled a little, and gained a few picks along the way. But this team needs a much bigger overhaul. This is probably the last "hurrah" on the James Harden experiment, and we don't have another chance to not get it right. This should mean really opening up the possibilities of how this roster can be revised as well as how much the FO is willing to spend. Unfortunately, none of that has really happened to date.

I don’t know about you but I’ve never been in a situation where turning down an extra 50!million is even a question. But if I’m him, I’ve already made more money than I’ll ever need. What I need is a championship. Taking less makes that more likely. That’s my thought.

Sure, but youre saying that there's a chance he's doing this to create space for the Rockets. Those chances are quite a bit smaller than the chances he just wants out of here.

The Rox are currently caught in a bad situation there is no "correct" way to proceed that I can see cuz so many things are unknown.

Harden wants to win but outside of biased fanboys it is a lock for Lakers to repeat unless somebody gets injured.

Given that getting Cousins and Wood is critical cuz we need pieces to rebuild if Harden wanted out. I give Stone A+ for doing a good job straddling the line between contention and rebuilding. Rox got younger but the pieces can also contribute to a contender team if somehow the Rox gets lightning in a bottle.

If they were really after a championship, they would have never made the WB trade, would have gone after a better fit.

Like Dallas went after the Unicorn to begin with.

It gives Harden a ton of leverage to not sign. If you sign, you don't have to be part of the conversation. If you don't sign, the owner and GM have every need to please their cash cow. A championship could mean more money opportunities in the future so turning down money now that you don't actually need might be smarter in the long run. Advertisers love a champion, especially one with Harden's worldly draw.

Not everything is about getting money as fast as you can. For instance, if you sign you can complain about moves the owner makes but it won't get you any leverage. If you want your owner to spend on improving the team then you have leverage to tell the owner what to do if you don't sign the extension.

Not signing seems the prudent move. The money will come. The other stuff has value that's difficult to place.

Imagine having a PG that can hunt match ups. Le sigh....

i love Roco but he really disappointed IMO in the playoffs. lotta bricks in tight moments.

he's also up there in age (spent like 3 years in the DL). Wood gives us an unguardable advantage on offense and that will help us more

I like the Wood pick up. Cousins looks like he’s done, but there is no harm in giving him a chance. Bruno needs to get his act together or get out of the league. I wouldn’t have brought him back. The rest of the players aren’t just unproven, but unimpressive too. Sterling brings some veteran experience, but not too much else.
    B- from me.

The only way Harden gets a ring in 2021 is if he joins the Lakers.

I agree. I especially liked the wood signing . Time will tell if he is ready to bring his game to the next level. I’d like someone more proven or even capable to join. Preferable a legit SF/PF. I think woods is the 5 on this team unless boogie proves otherwise.

Does Harden not do that better than anyone? I don't get it?

Having a backup PG making 40mill is bad no matter what their name is.

Owner and GM has to please their best player regardless of how much they're getting paid. At this point the only thing it does is make Harden a bit easier to trade because its a higher value contract.

Exactly. And if this hadn't leaked, I would really wondering what we're doing...not a single veteran minimum contract to a guy who's 100% going to be ready to contribute. Losing RoCo is not automatically offset by the addition of Wood. Not in the slightest.

A lot of this is TBD for me, but losing Green, not moving Westbrook or Gordon for much needed help hurts. Those 2 are tremendously overpaid and Stone's hands were tied given the leaks, so in that sense I cannot put that on him.

As an off-season, I am at least intrigued due to a great hire in Silas, solid assistants, the addition of Wood and Cousins as well as Harden and Westbrook still here. I will not rate it, it's inconclusive right now. It's waiting on Tucker or any of the overpaid ones or Harden to throw a fit, start blabbering to the media for this whole thing to turn ugly.

I would've actually liked if at least one of Westbrook / Gordon would've been gone and frankly Harden as well. But at least we can see what Silas we can do, that's the only positive about all those guys still being here.

I think the team is still a couple moves from really contending. John Collins is the 1 guy I would love to nab. I also think a Westbrook for Wall + 1st would be a positive trade for us; get rid of a cancer, grab a “prove it” guy that can play second or third fiddle.
