If tmac has surgery, can you still trade him as an inactive player next season?

If you are right, that could be enough to resign Ron. 7+5 makes for a decent 2 year deal with player option on the 3rd year...

McGrady should be upset with Aaron Brooks, down right livid. All this time we accused McGrady of having no heart when AB proved last night he stole McGrady's heart.

I'm saying he won't go through with the surgery. That, or he'll be praying the Rockets don't get to the second round.

Why exactly would it be awkward if we advance? Hopefully y'all realize we would've advanced last year if we were just healthy. The goal this year wasn't to just advance one round. Losing Tracy eliminates all championship hopes. I would rather have the Rockets let him know that, than what you're saying.

Your comments confuse me. I don't think you completely understand what he said. Welcome to the forums btw. If we advance, it's awkward because it shows we can win without Tracy, PERIOD. Without Tracy all championship hopes are not lost, I think it's really naive to think that. Yes, it is hard, yes it is an uphill battle, but you are drastically under rating Yao and company. Realistically the Tmac and Yao is era is over, but that doesn't mean the potential for a championship is gone.

Also, to say we didn't advance because of health bothers me. Look back to the optimal team, the team that played against Dallas. We held a good fight with them, and injuries weren't a problem, and yet we still couldn't beat that team. Heck! Gundy got further against the Jazz than Adelman did. True, JVG isn't my favorite coach, but still. I think this whole notion of health being our excuse is a joke. Sorry.

Yes, but no one will take on dead wait unless rockets do something like pay half t-mac's salary and considering his deal expires after next season or the rockets take on salary them self. Someone like the knicks who clearly are trying to free up cap space for the 2010 free agency market might be interested. We'll have to see what happens with the whole T-mac saga.

Tmac for Marbury and a 1st rounder? Haha, like they'd do it now.

Again, I'm still not seeing the awkwardness. Of course we can win without Tracy! Just like we proved we could win without Yao last year. It's not awkward because Morey is the reason why we can win without him. It's not like we're winning specifically because McGrady is gone. We're winning because everyone else is pretty much healthy and we are ridiculously deep. Not to mention we added Artest, who can basically replace McGrady, and we didn't give up anyone big to get him.
I was really thinking more about last year when Yao was out and Alston and Battier were playing on one leg. Surely you believe we would've advanced if they were healthy? But even in the Dallas series in 04-05, Juwan Howard's absence was the difference between winning and losing that series.

I think the awkwardness stems from the assumption that without tmac the offense can run, the Adelman offense that is. Plus, the rockets have basically taken the stance that McGrady is somewhat estranged from the team. The whole surgery thing, coupled with the Carter trade, combo'd with the fact that there's talk of issues in the locker room, it all seems like he doesn't fit. If you put this with the fact that Tmac has always taken that "It's on me" stance, us winning shows it's not really on him. I think it's awkward in the sense that he's not the reason we have a chance to win. Basically a second round advance shows that we have a $22 mil bell and whistle.
