If only Mark Jackson was 15 years younger so that he could develop together with Yao...

I thought Jackson looked pretty good tonight considering it's the first game he's played in quite awhile.

I'm not sure how he typically plays defense, but as he gets in shape it will at least get marginally better.

I think it was a great move bringing him in.

Mark Jackson is a God-Send. I have more confidence in the Rockets offense when he is on the floor.

You get help but get giddy when Mark Jackson and Yao Ming are playing at the same time.

This is not the problem that MJ can teach SF how to pass, is the fact that SF want to learn to be a true PG or not. The decision is on SF wants to be a 25 ppg ball hugger in a losing team like past few year or pass the ball like MJ leading the team to the championship.

MJ can run the fast-break. I like his pass on the run. That kind of pass will always lead to easy bucket.

He got the chance to grow together with Ewing. Not that bad.

Sometimes I think that too, even though its not true.

I wanted JJ so sign with us during the summer when no one picked him up. I was glad after we traded Rice cause we picked up JJ and I started a thread JJ right before we got him. Call it coincidence or whatever. The timing was just on time.

Good lord, Mark Jackson is not the second coming of Jesus anymore than LeBron is. Yes, this team needed a pass-first point guard. Yes, Mark Jackson is the 2nd leading assist man in NBA history. But remember how high everyone was on Mike Wilks after his first game? Just calm down a little, take a step back, and realize that MJ is a capable backup in his old age, but he cannot alone turn around the fortunes of this team.

Seemed to me like the entire team did, too. He hadn't been in longer than a minute or two before the offense was running noticeably smoother.

Well, perhaps you should understand that the Rockets haven't had any guard in the past few seasons that could pass worth a darn, thus understadibly, we get a little excited when we see a guy with actual court vision, who encourages ball movement rather than a guy like Moochie who is an iso-player.

Mark Jackson will make a big difference to the success of this team, a bigger difference than you apparently believe.

Jackson has played more than 15 years, not like Mike.

Could this be considered the best Rockets PG rotation ever?

Anyone else notice that when Jackson came out on the floor in the 4th period, the whole team began passing with him. I remember one paticular play when Jackson passed the ball to Yao, Yao passed to Cat (?), and then he passed it back to Yao for an easy, open jumper.

I love his leadership, and if he can help Steve become a complete PG, he will be an amazing adition to the Rockets.

The pass was to JJ who went back to Ming.

Definitely an overdue pick up, Dada. The man was there so long waiting. These guys take to long to move. I know I am repeating myself but it is true.

The team is playing very well right now and barring a major injury the team will be even better with Mark coming into spell SF and allowing SF to play some at SG, especially since Pike's picture is now on milk cartons.

The guy's vision and instincts are amazing. Great pick up.

Agreed! I think MANY of the posters on the bbs wanted Jackson signed LAST SUMMER. I think we all can see what he can bring to the team. Better late than never I guess.

That one play in the forth quarter, MJ pass to Yao, Yao pass to JJ and JJ pass back to Yao for the jumper. Just sweet! That is basketball! Loved it! Having JJ and MJ on the court as good passers really helps the team's offense flow.

Clearly MJ is going to be a liability defensively on the floor, his lateral quickness was terrible last night, but our team defense can make up for it. There are a number of PGs that are just jump shooters and not drivers so MJ should be able to play enough quality minutes without being a defensive liability. And offensively, he clearly knows his role: set up his teammates for shots.

Yao and MJ in a two man game in the Pick and Roll is tremendous.

If nothing else, having MJ on this team this year will show to everyone that we DO need a backup PG that can PASS the bb. This offseason we have to obtain one.

This was the first time all season I actually believed what I've been saying. This team is the #2 seed. No doubt in my mind now. We can take the West.

Knicks or no knicks. The teams energy and play elevated. By a lot. It was obvious. It happened at exactly one precise moment. And we all saw it. I haven't seen that in 4 years. The team believed. The fans believed. The coaches believed. This is not the same team it was a day before.
