You realize minutes can be staggered, right? While the Heat would lack strong paint defense, they would be great perimeter defenders. Wade, Battier, and LeBron are perfectly capable of giving Parker, Ginobili, and McGrady a hard time, and Chris Anderson and Juwan Howard are really there only to tire out Tim Duncan. If they tire out Duncan, the Spurs lose their Rebounding advantage. Then, the rest of the Heat can utilize the rest of their offensive firepower to mop up the Spurs.

Anyone else notice the people saying the Heat win are mostly newer users?

The spurs have a balanced scoring punch. Everyone can score from anywhere (with the exception of duncan from three--unless it is for the win). The passing is what wins it for the spurs as well as ghe defense and rebounding. They win those categories in every match up.

funny, Tmac would not get that many shots with Gino and Parker. but Wade, LBJ, Bosh, Allen, Lewis, ..... on the same team in their prime will get many shots

He's right. Also, TMac never got the finals for us to see him get 9,000 free throws for running aimlessly into crowds like Wade.

You seem to be underrated and overrating players at random.

You guys forget that the Spurs were winning championships back when TMac, Wade, Lewis, Battier, and Allen were in their primes.

Good grief I'm defending the Spurs...

Chris Anderson and Juwan Howard tire out Prime Duncan therefore the Spurs lose their rebounding advangage??

seriously, do you actually know how Prime Duncan / Spurs would tire out the opponents to win a game?

The main problem is we don't know how Splitter and Kawahi project. I would say Splitter is already better than Birdman.

Kawahi might become better than Battier in his prime. Danny Green is like Mike Miller.

Exactly...officiating were so mad in the 2000s...no hand-checking, every bump is a foul...Wade running into a wall of players, and still gets to shoots free throws. back in the 80's and early 90's guys were able to jump straight up in the air to contest a lay up.

Sorry, your first sentence was hard to pick up on in context. My bad.

Lebron is still a force though. But a Prime TD, Ginobili and Parker + TMac would be very interesting. Would be a dang good series..

It would be a freaking all star game that's for sure. I picked Heat but it's pretty even honestly.

But Mike Miller was cold in his prime, Rashard Lewis was an all star, Ray Allen was a superstar, Shane Battier was miles better, Juwan Howard was actually very good once upon a time.

Do you really believe that??? Come on man that is just plain stupid talk!!!

I was a huge McGrady fan, and despite what Tin Man thinks, he was an amazing player whose prime was cut short by injuries, but Lebron is a much more complete player. He has the most unique combination of size, speed and agility we have seen in years, maybe ever.

    Surely you can't be serious!!!

Could they beat prime Boston? Rondo/Terry/Pierce/Green/Garnett with bass Crawford and Courtney lee of the bench.

I'm a huge T-Mac fan who has gotten into plenty of arguments with tinman.

T-Mac is not on Lebron's level as an overall player. Just couldn't do the same things consistently. He didn't have the physicality that Lebron possesses.

I think Duncan is the best player in the matchup with Lebron being 1b. This is just because a combination of prime Duncan with prime T-Mac/Kawahi Leonard can at least pretend to guard Lebron.

Lebron and battier are too slow footed to guard 03 Mcgrady. Tmac has the length and quickness to guard just about anyone on the court.

Lets remember popovich is the best coach in all of sports. He would get the best out of tracy defensively.

The heat would be great if they played 5 quarters. There just arent enough shots for allen, wade, lewis, lebron, bosh, miller, battier, etc. most of them beed the ball in their hands to play effectively.

Battier in his prime would be able to slow McGrady down...would still be cool to see McGrady and Duncan in their prime on the same team.

    I chose the Heat.

What are you? An older user?

This is all hypothetical and based on individual opinions. The passing is what wins for the Spurs? I'm pretty sure the Heat starting lineup knows just as well how to distribute the ball..have you not been watching the Miami fastbreaks? Perimeter defence for Miami is better than the Spurs. Interior defence of the Spurs is better than Miami.
I don't see how they win these 'categories' in every matchup when Lebron would destroy Kawhi...
