Is it time to blow this thing up? Or, at the least, consider other styles of play? More off the ball movement, more cutting, midrange, etc.? I realize that we have two fantastic isolation players, but let's start to re-incorporate the mid-range game. I remember years back, that Harden step back was lethal... in the mid-range. That was, oftentimes, his "go-to" move. If we can't advance past OKC, I do feel as though we need to look in the mirror and change things. This analytics stuff is perhaps fine on paper, but we have failed to get to the next level for many years, and Harden and Westbrook aren't getting any younger. I begin to wonder what direction this team needs to go... I think definitely a new coach, but perhaps a new brand of play as well. Let's hope we win this, and don't have to go down that path.. Let's go, Red Nation!

I say yes, we've basically seen James fail in the biggest moments of the postseason for the last 8 years. Unless he somehow changes that this year, he is who he is. You could get a large haul for him now, in his prime.

if the Rockets lose tonight, no Rockets fan is safe in public...if u get caught with anything Rockets related, it will be automatic jokes

MDA would be gone for sure, that’s not even a question. As for a different style of play, I doubt it as long as Morey is here.

Yeah, but if this doesn’t work with the “offensive genius” that many say D’Antoni is, when and how is it going to work? But I know what you are saying, Morey isn’t like to change his ways at this point. Let’s get JVG back in here!

rational will be that it’s not the offense, but MDA’s lack of attention to detail, lack of adjustments, bad decision making, etc that cost us

he will be the fall guy for sure

Don’t want to put too much thought into it because I probably won’t care anymore. We’d be finished. No way out.

Could see MDA not getting extended even with a 2nd round appearance.

    Changes ahead.

if the rockets end up not winning for whatever reason tonight, the organization is just going to easily blow up in more ways than 1. The only question is to what degree

There is so much entertainment with Video Games, Movies, New Sports Activities.

NBA is sbout making money, ratings.

The League stretching this series means the NBA wants drama with Chris Paul vs James Harden

Chris Paul behaving like a child postgame, cheap shots.

The League is enjoying this, they want our players injured and tired before the Laker Series.

I would blow it up because I think we’ve already had our best shot with Harden and his value will never be higher but I doubt Tilman paid $2b to rebuild.

Difficult to do given both he and Russ's contracts, and i would keep the main pieces, but man....knocked out of the 1st round by a lesser team? Another year wasted and under favorable conditions? Bubble should have been Harden's feast. He usually has fatigue as an excuse for the playoffs, but now he doesn't have that. No partying at strip clubs night before a playoff game. He's also so good in pickup games and i thought the no pressure feel of the bubble would yield amazing results, but here we are, with no excuses. Now we place our season in the refs hands and the conspiracy theories begin. Get the Rockets out because they pose a bigger threat to the ALL LA Finals to make up for the lack of big draw teams on the EC. If we dont' have one of those games where we light it up and it's close late, yikes to Hardens legacy. At 31, he might have 1 season left before that's all she wrote on his legacy and he has to ring chase. Barkley, Malone, Stockton tier forever.

Realistically, you keep the main pieces, but you throw away the micro ball experiment and rebuild size and new coaching all in one summer and hope that is enough for next year.

Steve Patterson is the Greatest Rockets GM of All Time.

Drafted 1992 1st Rd Robert Horry, 1993 1st Rd Sam Cassell

Traded for Mario Elie, Otis Thorpe

Acquired Vernon Maxwell, Kenny Smith, Carl Herrera.

Hakeem Drafted by Steve Father who was the GM before him

This type of talent the 2020 Rockets do not have on the Roster. Bunch of journeyman and one way talent. Daryl always throws aways picks, this no doubt destroyed this franchise for years to come.

If the idea is to bring back former coaches who couldn't seem to get us to the finals, Adelman is a much better choice.

Regardless, Tilman isn't going to pay for an A-lister, or even a B-lister. We're looking at an unproven name, and probably one that isn't even on other teams' radar. Someone young, obscure, and—most importantly—cheap.
