I'm a bit skeptical about the John Wall hype, but I haven't seen him play that much.

Can somebody who has seen him play extensively (and not Kentucky homers, sorry Hayesfan) quickly make an argument why he would be any better than Derrick Rose(who was also hyped, but hasn't completely justified the hype yet)?

It doesn't have to be a long post, and I don't want to completely hijack this thread. Just some quick points. Thanks.

Turner is a more complete player than Wall.

When exactly is the draft lottery show? I know in the past that they've done it during playoff games. Dug around google, nba and espn and can't find anything.

NBA Draft Lottery Date: May 18. They usually have it during half-time of game 1 or 2 of one of the Conference Finals match-ups.

The 2010 NBA Draft will be held on June 24.

First, these three made me laugh:

Probability notation, meaning a non-zero probability.

    OK, what would I do?

    1) Poop my pants. Not on draft day, though, on ping pong balls day.

    2) If we can take Wall, we do it. 'nuff said. If we can trade our pick, plus Brooks and Martin for Wall, we do it.

    3) I think this is supposed to be about top-3 pick. I trust DM; I'd be happy with whomever he picks, or trading for an all-star. Damn, that would rule! See 1).

Ya know, if we did get such a pick, it would increase the odds that we could sign Labron or Wade, because they'd know we were going to have an awesome team. Plus no state income tax.

If we got a top five pick it would improve our ability to use in a trade with players to make an upgrade for a needed player, fairly young with some experience. We already have three rookies being trained to contribute to our run for the championship. :p

Also Houston is the perfect opportunity for LeBron to win over all the Chinese fans out there who love kobe and tap into that market by playing with Yao. We could use that as a serious bargaining chip. We all know he wants to be the biggest athlete superstar known around the world.

Worst Post EVER!! Why would you let go of the most improved player, league leading 3 point shooter for a cocky 19 year old who hasn't played in the NBA.

Why would you give up brooks and martin for john wall? what kind of drugs are you on? They must be pretty good to even consider giving up that much talent for a player that has yet to prove anything. I'm tired of this fantasy land crap, if we landed the pick we would take a big man no question. It probably wouldn't be wall, maybe turner because he's amazing and better then wall in my opinion and several others. But best bet would be Cousins because he's big, and has a lot of room to grow and the rockets would be a great fit. Oh and it's Lebron not Labron.

I would never trade away a potentially legendary player. I'd pick Turner and be happy.

The package will not be enough to get us Wade or Lebron. Bosh is a good player but I rather have Scola for a much cheaper price. I like a hard working player like Scola on this team. Plus if we can nab a guy like Turner, you go for it.

Because Bosh is questioned for his toughness at times. Sometimes I think that if we will land Bosh, it won't put us over the hump. Evan Turner has the potential to be a great SG in this league. So if we have a chance to grab a superstar in the making, we do it. Not try to win now because Yao may be back. I would rather grab a young rookie with a superstar potential than to rely on Yao. Yao is a good CEnter but his injuries has been holding back this team for years.

The Rockets window of opportunity is pretty much closed. Even if Yao comes back healthy, and we somehow get a decent player in FA, it is not enough to win us a championship. What the Rockets need is to draft a great prospect, someone that will become a superstar in this league and finally we have a good player we can built this team around. Because the Rockets really don't have a chance to win it all with Yao. Plus since our team is young, we need to find a great young prospect and rebuilt this team. Having Yao Ming is a plus, but his days of leading the team is over.

There is no way the Rockets can land Bosh. There are so many other competition out there right now. Houston has a really slim chance to nab a superstar. So if we can get the top 3 picks, get a young great player that will one day lead this team to something greater than Yao and Tmac has ever done. If we trade a great young prospect for an all star player to play alongside Yao (who most likely be hit with a major injury again), this team will regret it a few years down the line. I mean what if we draft Turner and trade him for an all star player and the Rockets still come up short because Yao isn't the player he used to be and got hit with an major injury again.

The best thing for this team is to finally draft a great player that will be the true franchise of this team. Relying on Yao is way too risky. I rather just have him as a good role player that can fill in the holes in the paint. But for the Rockets to continued to believe he will carry this team is suicide.

Things are very risky in the NBA. If you draft a superstar in the making like Turner and trade him for a guy like Bosh who is a great all star player, in the long run, the team that traded Bosh away for a great superstar wins.

We have to look at the whole picture here. Forget about Yao Ming. We have to think about the future also. If we give up a young great player for someone to help Yao Ming out will hurt this team bad in the future. Yao's window is maybe 3 years at the most. And who knows if he ever be as good as he was before. If Yao cannot lead this team far into the playoffs when he's healthy, what are the chances in that if he's trying to recover from a major injury. This injury for Yao would take at least a whole season just for him to get back into NBA pace again. Because his first season back, his minutes will be limited big time. The Yao's window is pretty much close.

If the Rockets can grab a young superstar talent, not only will he be an impact in the first year, but he is someone we can built a championship team for years to come. I'm not gonig to see the Rockets throw that away for a slim chance to win it all for the next few years and then having to rebuilt again.

You are wiser than the Rockets my friend. Perhaps they are just saying the right things in public, but if they intend to "build around Yao" they are not thinking basketball but strictly "business" or the revenue Yao's presence generates in advertising.

I'll give you the spelling thing, but I stand by the rest of what I wrote. As for which of us is on drugs, well, I'm pretty comfortable with my post.
