Umm I did explain why coming into the league they were not the type of prospect that Lebron was.

You're saying a guy like Rubio who was drafted 5th was the type of prospect Lebron was?

Yao Ming was considered raw and he was raw when he got into the league, and come on the best Center since Hakeem? Shaquille O'neal would like to have a word with you and so would Dwight Howard.

If you want to talk prospect wise there has not been a Lebron type since Oden. Who was the next big prospect and of course has since failed to live up to his hype and has been surpassed by Durant.

I mean PG wise, John Wall is a amazing prospect. When someone says "These guys come every decade." They don't mean Literally...every ten years they pop out. It just means they are something you just don't pass up on...and sometimes these guys don't work out lol.

But Rubio and Yao were not those kind of prospects. Yao has lived up to his potential though of a #1 pick.

It really is tough deciding what to do with the #1 pick if we got it.

On one hand, it's freakin' John Wall.

On the other hand, we're in win now mode, and I'm not sure John Wall is the piece (assuming Morey doesn't do anything else) to take us to the promised land.

So it comes down to essentially building for the near future, or winning now.

If we're able to trade Wall for a pick still in the top 10, and some star, I'd do that.

In many drafts, Rubio was going to go immediately after Griffin at #2. Although he didn't have the talent level of LeBron, he certainly had the potential.

And Shaq...totally forgot about him. Tunnel vision, I supposed. And Howard can't even carry Yao's jock strap.

John Wall will not be a backup on anyone's team. He is a SPECIAL talent that starts from day one. If the good teams like Utah, Houston or even Memphis gets lucky enough to pick him they will make room at the point or trade him in Utah or New Orlean's case.

That is granted that we even have the chance to draft him. Most teams that get potential franchise players are teams that have no superstars and their player base sucks.

This is not the case for the Rockets, especially next year.

John Wall would be our starting point guard. The only thing AB is better at is shooting.

Well my point is though, there hasn't been another Lebron James. He really was a once in a decade type of guy. The man was on covers before he finished High-School. Lets not forget his Nike deal and commercials before even playing one game... Of course he's lived up to every bit of hype.

I agree that Rubio was a top prospect though, and just like James he was realized at a really young age but the problem is he played in Europe. Guys like Darko have scared teams away. I'm not saying Rubio can't live up to it, just that he wasn't the type of prospect Lebron was.

Wall isn't even a Lebron type of prospect for that matter...he's more like a Durant or Oden type. Which is still pretty damn great...excluding Oden...but any other team would have drafted Oden, i'm pretty sure most teams would have picked him since some of them were comparing the man to greats like David Robinson and one "Best big man prospect since Duncan..."

Oh yeah but the point is, I wouldn't pass up on this guy for Turner or trade him for any established Superstar not named Lebron James or Kevin Durant.

I like Turner too, it's just that Wall is a 6'4 PG, handles like a point, assists like a point, can D-up.... Turner doesn't give me that wow factor. Too me he's BRoy at best and at worse a guy like Eric Gordon. For guys like Wall I don't really see a ceiling for him. If someone told me he'd average 25 and 11 2 years from now I wouldn't be shocked at all.

Draft Cousins and use him in a sign and trade to aquire Bosh. That way be keep Scola and Hill and send out Cousins + Jeffries + Knicks 2012 pick + Anderson for Bosh.

    Brooks/Lowry
    Martin/Budinger
    Ariza/Battier
    Bosh/Scola
    Yao/Hill/Hayes

you have to take Wall. Bowie over MJ, Darko over Carmelo, Oden over Durant... don't want to end up another statistic. there seems to be some bad luck associated with passing up someone who will almost undoubtedly be a superstar in the league someday.

Why in the hell would we trade John Wall?

For Lebron? Durant? Maybe Chris Paul?

Only guys I would give up Wall for...and Chris Paul i'd consider because of his recent string of injuries has given me a "Wait a second..." pause.

I trade Wall for Deron Williams...that is about the only semi-realistic option I trade him for.

Wade? If he decides to leave Miami, Miami would love a 1 or 2 pick as compensation versus anything the bulls can offer.

Good thing shooting is not an important part of basketball...

In any case, if we somehow landed the first pick (we won't), either Brooks or Wall would be traded. Probably Wall because he needs to dominate the ball, which doesn't fit as well with what we're doing, and also because he has more value to get us things we do need.

Or, if Morey sees an underrated guy he thinks will develop into a star a little later in the draft, maybe he would trade down as part of a larger deal.

Yea but I won't include Wade or James as realistic options, it might take even more luck then winning the lotto for Wade or James to wear Rox red.
