yea but not all the teams need a PF that were picking 1-19. id still take brandan wright over landry if i was a lottery team. id also take yi jianlian. depending on what you wanted from a PF, joakim noah may be the only questionable guy because he's more of a defender/rebounder. id take sean williams over him too.

10, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20...none of those guys need a PF like landry or they took someone better than him. 12 was philly, but they coulda taken sean williams at 12.

21 to philly would be the earliest IMO. 22 to charlotte maybe. 24 to phoenix definitely would fit.

is he playing like a top 10 pick? hell yea he is. but you asked who would you take if the draft happened all over again. the basis of the draft is not to draft a player for 1 year of productivity. you draft for upside. ask me again in 5 years and we'll see.

He'll develop into a solid starter/6th man, which he already kinda is. He's so valuable because his game is simple, but that also limits his potential as well. If he can develop some handles and keep extending his jumpshooting range, he COULD become a very good SF/PF.

speaking from purely a draft perspective...

landry is 6'7 245lbs with short arms

he's a scrappy guy who fights for rebounds and can finish around the rim and hit the 14 foot jumper. he doesnt have much of a low post game and he's already 24 years old. he's not a shotblocker.

how many guys like him do you see playing in allstar games? zero. he's a productive role player. not a centerpiece. i love him, but everyone needs to get off his jock. if you take him in the top 10, youre stupid because youre throwing out upside in the evaluation process. sean williams' upside is higher than landry's, im sure we can all agree on that. williams was taken at 17.

IMO Landry is better than Horford. everyone is on his nut just because he almost averages a double double.

5-8, Oden, Durant, Horford all go before him for sure. the conleys/thorntons etc can make an argument because they're younger, but i think 8 is the last pick he goes.

Horford reminds me of Wes Unseld, a very good player that will have to play the Center position for his career because of his bulk. Unfortunately, there will be Dwight Howard and Yao Ming around for most of his career pushing him to second tier star status. Horford will always put up decent rebound numbers and will score plenty against the weaker 5s, but he will find himself in mismatches against him all the time as teams go quick on him or go big with a Howard or Yao on him.

Landry, on the other hand, is not your typical PF. He's more of a tweener forward. He's gonna have to put on some muscle and work on his defense extensively to be able to defend PFs in the post. Fortunately for him, most of the PFs in the league are face up guys. Only a couple three true post up PFs.

LMAO. Oden hasn't played a single minute on the court (he's only running once a week now) and Durant is playing a 6'10" shooting guard on a team that opposing defense's have to worry about, uhm....chirp-chirp...Chris Wilcox? No disrespect to Landry at all, but come on.

There has already been lots of thread complimenting Carl. Can anyone please tell me why I am still, to this day, not sick of hearing it.

Trying reading the post. He said speaking from a purely draft perspective. He then posted what he was listed at going into the draft and the second paragraph is the analysis on him at draft time. The last paragraph is the posters opinion.

if you had hindsight as a given most teams would look past their positional needs and go fer the proven.

    probably top 10 imo ...

It's been discussed to death how listed measurements are often wrong, especially since the 6'7 figure was from Landry's freshman year in college I believe...

Plus, the OP said *if the draft happened tomorrow* which obviously means that we know Landry based on what he's done so far and his draft measurements. And he's a legit 6'9 in shoes.

He definitely needs to work on post moves but I would move him into the first round around 20(+/-5). As mentioned he is not a franchise player but with work can be very solid 15/8 guy.
