Yea but back then we didn't have the anti-white rhetoric, white privilege, anti-police etc. That started under Obama (2nd term), one of the reasons why Trump happened the first time, but ya refuse to acknowledge that. Its easier to say Trumpsters are just racist

Team Blue plays pretty well. They had a huge 2020 and 2022. The gloom and doom is just recency bias because most of America wanted to see if change is possible. I bet the vast majority of voters aren't tuning into fox news or MSNBC on a daily basis. They are taking their kids to practice, working overtime and streaming Netflix when they get some free time.

    Sham,
You have finally learned something that I've known for quite some time. Trump's communication style is not "simple". It is a calculated, purposeful way to effectively persuade. It's clear, it's memorable, and it's succinct. And it's repeated over and over and over again to ensure retention. That allows ANY consumer of the information to retain it -- not just high/low information voters. People in the audience need to be able to repeat a point to other people in order to persuade them. They can't remember a long, nuanced point. Their brains are not programmed to retain all of the complexity. Consumer brands use the same approach with slogans and mottos. Trump has masterfully applied this approach to politics. Obama did it with "Hope and Change" and to a lesser extent, the BS lines about your secretary paying a lower tax rate than the boss... and "if you like your doctor you can keep your doctor" -- that one backfired though.

This is communications 101. Clear, simple, memorable. Repeat and repeat. In the corporate world, the best goals are set this way. Lawyers struggle mightily with clear, simple, memorable. It's hard to ace this communications approach. Trump, who is extraordinarily intelligent, has been able to do it in a way that few have throughout history. It's one of his greatest strengths.

    GOOD DAY

MAGA didn't win Trump the white house.. It was the minorities (Black and Hispanic Men)... Trump's base is his base. they were solid and were not going to move one way or the other.

The votes from the Black male was a statement to the Blue Team
    • Stop making promises you don't keep
    • Stop taking us for granted that you have our vote
    • and fine if you want here us out we will vote for the Red Team
The Blue Team needs to wake up, they are trying to please so many people and basically go with what ever the wind blows... At one minute they are running on LGBTQ, the next minute it's abortion, the next women's right... I do give the Red Team credit, they had an agenda and never swayed from it, no matter what the cost was.

If the Blue Team wants to get back in the game, for starters they need to:
    • get an agenda
    • listen to the people (ALL OF THEM)
    • keep your promises
    • Be clear that everyone can't have what they want... you can't please everyone

The Fox News BS bleeds out.

Low info voters had a big issue (from focus groups) with trans surgery in prisons, with the US not being able to survive another 4 years of a D WH, with the cost of eggs/bread/gas, with immigration etc. All these are R talking points.

And the top 20 podcast that people listen to have a conservative bias.

I have said many times on this board.
A problem does not need to be huge for the OPTICS to be huge.
I stated yesterday that even just one gender reassignment surgery in prison that made the news has OPTICS much larger than the issue.
. The issue is so miniscule, but it was latched on to those who do not support it and they tell two friends and they tell two friends, and so on and so on.
    Like the old shampoo commercial.

Good post, I would also add that knocking on doors is not working, social media and pod casts are the new norm, was it a mistake not to go on Rogan, I am not sure, would she really change a Rogan crowd, I doubt it but it needs to be discussed. The Latino vote IMO cost us big time, I think I saw a 12% swing. I just get disheartened when ANYONE votes for this con artist, but most people dont really care about the nuances, they want a transactional president, and if trump cant do it, the next person to promise the moon will get the votes...................trump was spouting about building a golden dome, deporting 20 million, no taxes on tips and SS........will he do it, Hell NO but he is good at selling it

The Red Team is more responsive to their base, even when they don't want to be. I wonder how different things would be if the Blue Team was even slightly responsive to their base.

The black male vote went from 9% Trump in 2020 to 20% Trump in 2024.

That extra 11% of black men decided an old AF racist AF white guy (who wanted the US armed services brought in to shoot BLM protesters) was a way better choice than the not-at-all racist D who happened to not have a penis.

My message to those 11% is FAFO.

The Rs with more gusto and bravado will
    • make no promises and keep them
    • find ways to put more black men in prison
    • and tell them to STFU since it is a white man's world

That is ass backwards. The red base is more responsive to the read team messaging. The red base can't even tell you what they are really mad about ... CRT ... woke ... forced trans surgeries in schools etc

The vote % from registered Democrats was 32% in this election. It just keeps shrinking and shrinking every cycle to new lows. If the Blue Team played only to its base, they'd lose by even larger margins.

My message to the Latino men is also FAFO.

When the deputized rednecks in pickup trucks (likely drunk) show up at your door and you find yourself in a detention camp or south of the border the next day, remember that Trump said he would do exactly this.

I don’t even feel like voting anymore moving forward…I think I’m done caring about what happens to this country

Dems need to just lie, make up catchy slogans, fuel millions into the podcast and social media space propping up people who don’t talk about policy, but talk sh*t and provide vibes…they also need to stop courting republicans running around with Liz Cheney and other washed republicans…Trump got 94% of the republican vote in 2020, and got 94% of it in 2024…Dems couldn’t even shave off a single percentage point…all that “Republicans against Trump,” Lincoln Project, Bullwark people they love to court don’t mean sh*t

trying to discuss policy doesn’t work, it’s all about vibes

they also need to run somebody charismatic who isn’t a career politician

No, I mean the Red Team leadership is more responsive to their base. Red Team base wanted Trumpism, Red Team leadership did not. But eventually they begrudgingly relented and embraced it, because they had no other option.

Blue Team leadership shut down any attempts to have a bottom-up movement, probably because Blue Team leadership is more organized. Thus, they never needed to respond to their base.

    yup…this is where I’m at

    I still remember this story

Helen Beristain voted for Donald Trump even though she is married to an undocumented immigrant.

In November, she thought Trump would deport only people with criminal records -- people he called "bad hombres" -- and that he would leave families intact.

"I don't think ICE is out there to detain anyone and break families, no," Beristain told CNN affiliate WSBT in March, shortly after her husband, Roberto Beristain was detained by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

On Wednesday, Beristain was proven wrong as ICE split her family across two countries.

Roberto Beristain, 44, was deported back to Mexico despite having no criminal record, family attorney Adam Ansari said.

"He hadn't committed any crimes. He didn't even have a parking ticket," Ansari said. "From everyone's accounts he is probably one of the most lovable guys you will ever meet. He is a loving husband and father. And he put a lot of work into his restaurant."

when this starts happening on a mass scale, I won’t care

After 30 years of living in the U.S, Garcia, a 39-year-old Lincoln Park landscaper, was deported on the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday from metro Detroit to Mexico, a move supporters say was another example of immigrants being unfairly targeted under the Trump administration.

    This is spot on.

Voters need to be spoken to ... where they are. They are not critical thinkers. They do not want to read a policy paper ... or even read a summary of a policy paper.

Right the **** now ... spanish speaking Ds (like Pete Buttigieg, AOC) can hit the spanish media outlets and tell their listeners to go get passports and never leave the house without them ... since the Rs are coming for the Latinos. Is it the truth? Could be, if Trump was a good executive.
