Good point. Am i the only one who sees that when Steve is not on the floor, we basicaaly suck? I mean, there is a reason he plays 40 mins a game. Except for maybe 2 games (NY, Orlando) where M. Jackson did decent, every time Steve sits, we blow our lead. It happened against Memphis and Indiana recently. That being said, he needs to sort out his priorities.;)

    good point.

les has got to be feeling the pressure with the Stros having a monster off-season and the texans a few pieces away from being a solid playoff contender.

no way francis gets traded w/o us receiving an all-star or two in return. picks just aint gonna cut it.

I also agree with this. Regardless of how Francis does on the floor, he still moves merchandise, he still is loved by the NBA fans as evidenced by his all star starter nomination.

With the Texans and Astros getting things Hot in Houston I dont see the Rockets just dumping Francis and not getting something solid in return.

If you move Francis you better be talking about getting back an Elton Brand or Ray Allen or something of that sort.

I cant see this team doing any major rebuilding.

Well, I don't think anybody will have to worry about the Rockets trading Steve for draft picks, since that isn't allowed in the CBA...

Like I posted earlier. You don't trade an all star unless you get an all star in return.

It's funny how everyone has pretty much accepted SF being shipped out. What makes this inevitable is that SF is now claiming it was a family emergency that made him miss the team flight.

He won't even admit why he stayed behind.

It just looks worse and worse the more he talks.....

We need either an all-star or a couple of borderline guys. Without checking the numbers:

Francis/Cato for Rashard/Daniels - We move Cuttino to the bench, start Jackson at the 2 and start Mo at the 4.

Why Seattle does the deal? They get an All-Star to play with Allen and the 5 they need.

    Francis/Cato for Brand/Jaric.

Why the Clippers do the deal? They can start Wilcox at the 4 and get a real center in Cato. Hard to believe they are going to trade Brand, though.

    Francis/Cato for T-Mac/Howard

Why the Magic do the deal? Fear of losing T-Mac without compensation. They get a true center, and an all-star that is going to be locked up a few more years. We can start T-Mac at the 3, and have Jim Jackson be the SG. Cuttino comes off the bench.

We could spice up the deals to include Booth, Kaman or Declerq to make sure we have a serviceable backup to Yao. We would be thin at the 1, with Wilks and Jackson, but perhaps there is another deal out there for Eric Snow or someone like him.

Not sure what's going on in Boston, but if you could get Pierce for Steve would you do it? I'm not sure Boston would but Ainge is doing some strange things over there and I'd atleast make a call to see what's going on.

CM will never accept coming off the bench. He wants to be famous remember.

Honestly, SF, CM, KC, and MT all need to go, just for different reasons.

    SF: wrong attitude, plays dumb
    CM: wrong attitude, plays dumb
MT: tweener, overpaid for a 6th man
KC: style doesn't fit with YMs, and he's overpaid

Well, I know that Raven isn't dumb enough to want possibly the only point guard in the NBA with a worse assist/turnover ratio than Steve, so there must be an ulterior motive behind his post...

    Yes there is.

GA is only 22 and I think his game can improve with the right coaching. In other words, I think GA has a great upside, where SF's game has leveled off.

Of course, my first choice is still Elton Brand.

The only person that can help the Rockets is Steve Francis. He has played his worst basketball of his career and we were winning. I hope this just makes the team stronger, it seems we have been playing games w/o the fire we use to have.

Just like Steve would improve with the right coaching? ;)

No way, Gilbert Arenas sucks. FG% has gone down every year of his career and career A/TO ratio that is worse than Steve's. In fact, his career has almost mirrored Steve's. A solid rookie year followed by an excellent second year followed by an injury plagued third season in which he is struggling.

Gilbert Arenas is basically Steve Francis Lite, and I assumed the whole point of trading Steve is to get somebody that is different.

Which brings us to Carlos Arroyo. He'd look great in a Rockets uniform, though the Rockets would have to get an impact player to go along with him...

I know it's virtually impossible, but AK47 next to Yao would be a beautiful fit, with gorgeous interior passing, and they'd block about 8 shots a game.
