IF Steve Francis was healthy, would he be in the playoff rotation?

Francis would give us another player that can create his own shot and for others. He would also bring his penetration skills. Another would be his heart and passion. One more thing that he would bring is giving out hard fouls. You know Francis isn't going to take crap from anyone.

All players played terrible in those couple of bad games. They wasted most of SF's good passes. SF was just very unlucky.

The truth was, during pre-season, SF tried to play as a leader in the locker room and told the news media that "this team is Yao's team", which hurt TMac a lot. As a new coach, Adelman did not want Yao and SF to control the team either. That was why he did not even give one single miniute to SF in the first home game.

Believe me, without SF, Rocket would never win champion, even Yao stays healthy. TMac got all the talents but killer instinct. SF has it.

Ya I always thought politics had something to do with it. But as a newcomer to a team, Francis should have kept his mouth shut. You can't have two Alpha Dogs on a team. He needed to just let his play on the court do his talking for him. Take a lesson from Carl Landry.

Wow after seeing francis play this year, I can't believe there are still delusional rockets fans thinking he can actually help. Francis is done and is a washed up bum. He should retire, cause he's just an embarrassment out on the court now.

He was coming around in the games leading up to his big day, in Phoenix. After that, the injuries started getting the best of him. If he can come back 100%, I think there is a good chance he contributes. But that is a big IF.

Is this confirmed or just speculation? It does make sense. If it isn't confirmed its a pretty good theory.

I think Francis could help this team when healthy. He can still score, does provide grit, emotion, and still possesses that relentless approach despite his body tearing down. He made a strong effort to play the 1 this season rather than just playing his game. I give him credit for that. Eventually I feel he would have got the hang of it. Meaning Bonzi Wells would likely still be a Rocket. Well... Maybe.

Umm he was playing injured and if you did watch the games he played he still had flashes of greatness and his passing ability/court vision is still there. If he comes into training camp healthy I'd expect him to earn minutes.

My only concern is he didn't travel with the team like Yao, but if he's rehabbing to get into shape I don't care that he didn't go to games...

This offseason is going to be huge for Steve. I love him with every clogged artery of my Rockets heart, and hate how bad he got screwed over this season, but if he doesn't completely bring it in training camp next year, it really is on him.

    GET WELL SOON, FRANCHISE!

I agree the story that Adelman didn't want Francis and Yao running the team sounds a little strange. I think Francis got outplayed, wasn't in shape and not fully healthy at the start of the season rather than ego trip head games on the part of Adelman that kept Francis out of the rotation for the first 10 games. Remember Adelman has coached a lot of guys with egos who didn't always mesh well with teammates, Chris Webber, so I have a hard time believing he would shut out Francis just for that.

steve's "couple of really bad games" came after that hard fall that bruised his tailbone... but before that hard fall, he won games for us and did what all of us begged t-mac to do, took it to the rack..

Btw, I heard of 1560 that he was on the bench in game one. Not like it matters, but thought i'd throw that out there.

Normally injured player doesn't travel with the team. Yao is there to show his support. But that is not the norm.

Don't worry about him being out of shape now. As long as he comes in shape next pre season. The key now for him is to get back healthy.

I think he had one or two very good game for the knicks last year, including one game winning 3ptr. He is not that old so he should have some in the tank. The key is health. I don't believe he was 100% healthwise this season. That is why we didn't hear him getting injured and all the sudden he went out for a season ending surgery.

If Franchise can be just 25% of what he was that is still at least twice as good as Head is now....and that'd be enough.

Please.... like he can't take 3 hours out of his such busy life to support his teammates if he really cares about them and the team. Freaking Devin Harris was at the Mavs game supporting his old teammates.
