Well, maybe if Aaron Brooks had guarded him, he would have missed.

If Stockton doesn't make that shot the score would've been 100-100. OT of Game 6. Jazz may've still won it that night in overtime, or two nights later in Game 7 in Salt Lake City.

Even if we beat the Jazz, who says we'd beat the '97 Bulls? They won 69 that year.

Too many what-ifs in your scenario, though it's fun!

My point is, we're one shot away from feeling pretty good about ourselves. At 1-2, with that single win being at the Lakers, we'd feel OK about our chances. However, because of that one shot, we're in full-on panic mode.

And you can't say that a team that was one shot away from being champions (like the Celtics last year) should still feel pretty good about themselves. They feel like crap - and they should. Our one shot only changes us from 0-3 to 1-2 (no championship at stake) but it does major changes to our psyche.

My real point is: everyone, chill the eff out. It's early. I'll be ready to panic and abandon ship when the time is right (as I did last Marchish, when I asked if/when it's OK to boo the home team), but that time isn't now.

The problem is, it's not just that "one shot".

What if Blake didn't hit those back to back threes to trim our lead going into the fourth?

What if Brown didn't hit those 3s?

What if we ran a better play so that we could've at least pushed the game to overtime?

There is no ifs. It happened because something went wrong, and Steve Blake didn't miss those shots because Aaron Brooks didn't defend him, plain and simple.

There is no point looking at the ifs, because if the "ifs" did happen, we would've won the championship 5x in a row by now.

Um, I think it takes a few thousand more "ifs" for us to have won 5 titles in a row by now.

Whereas the Steve Blake "if" is just one tiny "if" away from making most CFers not be in full-on panic mode.

Forget about that, the Laker would have grabbed the offensive rebound and went for an easy layup. We sucked, admit it!

I don't think we should count on going on a 22 game winning streak

I was thinking the exact same thing earlier today so I feel the same way as OP. There is need to panic. Let's see how we do in next 3 games.

Curry is not playing in the Lakers game.

Not unexpected if you knew about Ariza and his aura that makes the Hornets the new exciting team to watch.

Is it ever OK to abandon ship or boo the home team? For me, we're Rox fans - no matter how they fare. Sure, as fans we're entitled to critique them ... but as true fans, we should never abandon.

Dunno the answer to that one, woket, but we had this conversation last spring and I'm not ready to have it again just yet.

And if we lose the next 10 in a row? 0-13, I think Toyota Center will be burned down.

3 basketball games is equal to less than 5 minutes in one football game. relax with cowgirl comparisons.

Houston was the only legitimate threat to the Bulls, Hakeem had a great win percentage against the Bulls during his prime. Jordan also never had to play against a truly superior Big man, and when he did he usually fared worse off. During a playoff series, Houston could have definitely got the better of the Bulls. The truth is Jordan never had to play against a supremely skilled big man in the playoffs, ever.
