I voted for Yao Ming. He is not needed at Rockets. They utilize him primarily for defense, rebound, and setting a pick for guards. Cato would be sufficient to do the job. Trading the guards is very doubtful. Rudy is loyal to them, and this team has been guards-oriented for ages. Besides, if you were Rudy and you trade one of the guards because of Yao's arrival, aren't you afraid that players lose trust on you?
Huh? Guard-oriented for ages? I guess it depends on what you mean by an age, but I seem to remember teams built around the likes of Elvin Hayes, Moses Malone, and Hakeem Olajuwon.
I voted for Yao too. I would be so happy to see Yao leave Houston. Trade him to the Lakers for Shaq(BTW, Lakers 4-peat). Damn shaq is so fat now, Yao and Kobe will be so much better for the future. For all ur Rokets fans, u guys don't deserve Yao.
I know .. I just threw Yao up on the poll just to mix things up but I can't believe people are voting for him.. i would rather see Francis go than Ming.. some of those votes are just troll voters wanting Ming on their team!
I am a Rox fan but if they dont figure this cr@p out, I vote for Yao to just play out his current rookie contract and then go to the Lakers as a free agent. By then, Shaq will be done and Kobe will be unbelievable. Phil will know how to use Yao and Kobe is smart enough to work with Yao. Another Laker Dynasty
I hate the Lakers sooooo much, but this guy is right. The way things are going at present, Rox probably don't deserve Yao. Can you imagine how Yao will be so awesome with the Kings when Vlade retires??? It's like picking up where they left off (without the flopping).
Maybe they don't treat these polls as seriously as the presidential election. Maybe because the Rockets don't give a crap about these polls. Maybe because even though I love it, it is just a fan website. this isn't directed at you Mr. Clutch BTW, seriously, Do you really think Les would give up Yao, a complete money maker, and possibly franchise center, to keep a couple of typical NBA players who refuse to pass the ball. I still think the Barkley move was more about marketing than basketball.
I hope not. But we also have to worry about whether Yao wants to stay with us. I agree with you about Barkley, it turned out to be better matkerting than basketball.
Wanting and having are two seperate things..something has to be stirred up.. our guards aren't "young" anymore!
Peace out Cat Mobley! I would take Jefferson, E.Jones, Sprewell, J.Richardson, or how about we dust off old David Jameson (LOL)
