Tanking is giving up, they are trying to win every game. Tanking is also a media created excuse for teams at the bottom of the standings. The media act as if every team should be at the top
Silas would have told Morey, "Get me two good guards who also play defense for one Harden." Harden would then have been traded for Jrue Holiday and Lonzo Ball and we would have chip.
Apologies, I came in a little hot there. I should not have said it like that. Thats a fair criticism, I dont think I really agree, but I understand your point.
I don't disagree with that. As someone asked me in week two....don't you think the Rockets want to win? My reply was, "trying to win involves starting Wall (he gets his 30+ minutes), Wood, Eric Gordon, Theis (because Wall-Gortat PnR was successful and Wall-Theis can recreate that). Silas changed the lineup after reports had the Rockets front office weighing their options on firing him. __________________ I have no doubts that the Rockets front office has sent mixed messages. 1) Teach: Porter/Green baptism of fire as PG's. Sitting Wall is a clue they told Silas give Porter/Green as much reps as needed. Turnovers come with learning at NBA level. Mass amounts of turnovers does not equal wins (or winning). 2) Increase Trade Values: play House, Nwaba, Eric Gordon, Wood, Theis. Some make more sense than others.I said the Rockets would get no offers for House. Not even as salary filler. 3) Win: Uhh? Do you want coach to teach two raw facilitators or be in "win now" mode? Make up your mind!! 4) Tilman is quoted as saying, office personnel have informed him that losing is best for the franchise. I'm not making that up. Goggle it. That implied, "Tanking." Edited: here is a link, you need a subscription; but you gets the idea when Astros Crane is mentioned. https://www.houstonchronicle.com/te...Fertitta-hates-to-lose-but-takes-16126715.php
well if yourea coach you sure need to motivate and inspire your players to indulge only in desirable activities and make players take good care of health
Silas is doing exactly what Tilman and Stone want him to do. They are thrilled with the job he is doing.
I cannot imagine I would say this beyond my wildest dreams but the Grizzlies and Wolves are closer to contending than the Rockets are. Like that has ever happened other than the KG and Pau Gasol/Marc Gasol years. Were not really close.
not really related... but i find it interesting that Emblid is the front runner for MVP... but i thought 'big men were unplayable in todays NBA'... DeRozan is making a living on the mid-range... i thought those were bad shots.... Team with the best record in the league in 26th on 3pa... so i guess a team doesnt have to live or die by the 3...
