I don't think you get the picture yet. The big mouth part is just a side point. The fact is, Shaq doesn't have many years left. Yao, on the other hand, is still very young with no competition in sight. Why would you mortgage your future just to get a "posibility" of winning a championship in the next couple of years when he still can dominate?
You misunderstood this picture that I am talking about. I referred to the Rox fans. Rox fans love Yao too much to even think about a trade. Everyone would be really really upset if the Rox management even tried such a trade right now. People just think Yao is the future of this team and untouchable. All these is fine with me and I respect you for standing along side your team and your belief. As for what Shaq has or has not, it is never in this picture that I am talking about. But thanks.
OK, I misunderstood your picture. I know Laker fans think Shaq is untouchable (apart from his big mouth, that is ), just like Rockets fans think Yao is untouchable. But if you put aside the homey emotions, would you trade a young and improving star for a peaked aging star?
imagine if he came here as a free agent and took a pay cut.. steve, mobley, shaq, yao, as starters, whoa
Please. Its just Yao's 2nd year and he's starting to dominate. Shaq has gotten more disruptive each year and is already not the player he was. Shaq didnt get the Lakers a title just last year, and he probably won't this year, even with 3 other hall of famers around him.
Hell no, why would the Rox trade Yao for Shaq? It's not guaranteed the Shaq will bring in a championship. I'd rather take a chance with Yao than with Shaq.
Shaq is past his prime, way past! and he is a trouble maker and should stay in LA and destroy the Lakers not us.
HELL NO!!! Read the article on Kobe talks it up on nba.com. Shaq is all for himself and would take up to much cap room and with his injuries and all the weight he is carrying around his playing days are numbered.
