If Sengun gets more minutes, where do they come from?

Sengun minutes come from Theis & Tate. Tate NEEDS a new role other corner 3 spacer. The offense is not a fit for him. I think we should move Tate while he has value maybe with Gordon, Wood or Thries to get some higher value back. Tate is like icing and we don’t even have a cake. IMO, Garuba will fill the void & is a better overall player long term on a controlled contract. Tate & House (if he plays like his last game) are great deal closers. Maybe a team will give more than they should if we add them into the mix. Anyway by move Tate & Wood to open up room for development of young bigs.

Take minutes from Theis, Wood and Sengun should be in the 28-32 range, Theis 15-20.

He's not just any big though so you don't have to worry about pairing him up with Wood.

Given the fact the Rockets will likely be bringing another big in via their upcoming lottery pick I think Sengun needs to develop into a guy that can share the court with another big. I'm hoping Sengun/Garuba/lottery pick will be the Rockets 4/5 rotation starting next season.

The Rockets have won 2 games this season so who cares where the minutes come from? We're not exactly messing with championship chemistry here. Just get him more minutes. Hell, he passes better than our PGs. Let Sengun take minutes from Theis, Wood, Tate, Augustin and everyone else. Play him until he gets tired or fouls out.

This is the same thing the Bulls announcer said during the game. Apparently most people around the league know how to develop youngsters better than Silas lol

    They come from trading Wood.

    Starting lineup should be:

    Green, Gordon, KJ, Tate, Sengun

With KPJ, Brooks, Theis, Matthews coming off the bench.

Wood, House, and Wall need to be moved. Gordon of course could be moved for the right price but I don’t want to move him for nothing. Wood/House/Wall though… adding very little to this teams short term and long term success.

Ive seen enough now to see that the most efficient decision maker with the ball in the half court offense is Sengun. That should be our primary poor man’s Adelman style offense the rest of the season.

Gordon has been productive but he is also 32 and going to be 33. He ain't 27 no more when he first came.

Of course he has to decide where he wants to play the next years, on a bad team or on a contender.

The older he gets, the closer his value will drop to low.

You will have to play Sengun and Wood together about 10 mins a game. They should get 20 each when the other is on the bench. Theis should get no minutes unless one or both are banged up or in foul trouble. Tate should still be getting minutes as our only real defensive stopper and should be on the floor when Green is on the floor for defensive purposes. You can for sure cut back on Tate’s minutes to give KJM a little more run since this is a developmental year and not a win at all costs year. In my opinion, the only real issue with minutes right now is Sengun. Find a way to get him and Wood 30 mins then the rest can be massaged until we find the right mix or some of the veterans get moved. No sense giving House or Nwaba minutes as neither is a long term answer on this team.

Gordon NEEDED to go when he was resigned, IMO. If we aren’t loosing any assets then move him. This is true for all of them less Wood & Tate and anything somewhat reasonable gets them.

There are many results to having a garage sale. One is to clean out old inventory the other is fundraising. IMO, we thank the guys for their service and moving them to new situations is should be the goal. Clean slate with playing time across the board. If we are greedy we will wind up just keeping our players.

Gordan gets traded for sure in my opinion. If House can show anything up until the trade deadline he will probably be traceable. Both probably only get us a low first and seconds plus expirings. Wood to me is the wild card. It is apparent that he is not our long-term answer at Center and PF does not work for him. If someone steps up, we should trade him, but not for peanuts like the other two.

Trust me… I know this. I just wouldn’t move him just to move him like I would the other 3. I’m just saying he has value. I would move him for a 1st or maybe 3 second round picks or a 2nd round pick and a young player.

For the other 3, expiring contracts would be good enough.

I think the key is "at the right price." He is playing well and as long as he's having fun ;), there's no need to rush a deal.

Wall and House are useless. Wall especially is a problem because of the potential malcontent distraction.

Wood needs to be gone simply because we don't want him taking up Sengus's minutes and he won't be happy coming off the bench. The only condition we keep him is if he is willing to play a complimentary role at the 4 spot or a 6th man role off the bench.

To answer the OP's question, it doesn't matter where they come from. Sengun is the best player on the team, I don't care who he takes minutes from, you find a way to get him on the court.

Trade Wood for one of Sacramentos plethora of PGs. And then who knows, there might be a decent stretch 4 in this draft.

    no more thies or Nwaba.

sengun starts and plays 30mpg at center. wood starts at PF but subs as backup center for 18mpg, leaving about 12mpg with a sengun/wood lineup.

that leaves 36mpg at PF which I would split between KJ and Tate. leaning more minutes to KJ since we need to prioritize his development and spacing for green's development.

I would also start gordon-green-kpj in the backcourt with augustine-brooks-matthews as their backups.

house can be the 11th man to come in if tate-matthews-brooks just don't have it one night.

I think starting Martin either with Tate or without Tate would open the game up with Wood at the 5 and let Sengun get all the minutes at the 5 when Wood gets benched especially if he’s having a bad game
