Lets see, for the Rockets to make the playoffs next year, a team from the current playoffs must fall out. Lets take a look at each team and judge the probability of them dropping out next year:

    Spurs (no chance)
    Mavs (no chance)
    Kings (no chance)
    Lakers (no chance)
    Blazers (not likely)
    Wolves (not likely)
Jazz (probably not, always seem to stick around)
    Suns (Maybe, but probably not).

So at best, I see the Rockets competing for the 7th or 8th seed while waiting to be the sacraficial lamb for one of the top 4 teams. Otherwise, they could miss the playoffs all together which is the more likely scenario.

With Rudy, I just can't predict any major improvement. He hasn't improved his coaching abilities for the past few years. No reason to think that there will be major improvement next year.

Be prepared for another year of Rudy Ball! We can just cut and paste comments from this season for next year.

I've been saying it all along, with Rudy as coach, we will get the same result, no playoffs, from now on out. It's getting to the point where I'm starting not to even care about the Rockets as much. I just have no optimism for them as long as Rudy and the rest of this pathetic staff is still on the job. There was no excuse, none, for the Rox not making the playoffs this year. It's no secret, this team has no direction. If we keep waiting for Steve, Mobley, etc. to get it than this team will never get anywhere.

We have a bunch of talent on this team but we also have a bunch of stupid players on this team as well and they need a REAL coach, not a motivational speaker like Rudy. It's time for change. Les Alexander can move him in the front office or where ever but please don't allow him to come back and lead this team nowhere for a 5th season in a row.

I've also lost optimism with Rudy as the coach. As the season wore on, I just didn't care anymore. Even if the Rockets landed someone like Shaq or KG or T-Mac, the Rockets would probably still struggle because there is just no direction on this team with Rudy at the helm

Heck, if we got Shaq and KG, we might win in spite of Rudy. :)
