If that did somehow happen my guess would be they have no team chemistry and there will be players arguing with teammates. Not so sure they'd even make the playoffs
I could be wrong... but DHo is more likely to be s/t because he'll want bird rights new contract - so he'd sign it with Lakers and then be traded... Whereas, we'd just sign Smith outright... cause most don't believe he's worth max money (myself included) and no one is gonna give up assets to pay JSmith MORE than a max scale free agent by tacking on the bird right kicker...
I'm not a huge fan, but this commentary is both brutal and funny. I can't imagine he'd sign for a salary that I would consider fair for both sides.... nothing more than 7-8 per year.
Because we'll be able to get CP3 right? lol. Anyway, getting Howard doesnt mean instantly championship team. It's more about chemistry and how the players mesh with their strengths. Look at Lakers, they got Nash, Kobe, and Howard and they're struggling to make playoffs when it says they should be championship team on paper.
Hey Never say Never... Sure, we don't have the LA lifestyle or the human-highlight dunker in Blake Griffin but I'm sure if Paul had an opportunity to play alongside The Beard and either Smith or Howard, 9 times out of 10, you go for it. All the Clippers have is Griffin, from a star perspective. We would have Harden AND possibly either Smith or Howard for him to lob to. I'm not saying its a done deal, as I am sure its a 1 out of 1,000 chance (maybe greater than that) that Paul would consider Houston after his contract expires but who knows? Crazier things have happened in the NBA.
Bingo!! There is a good chance the same thing would happen here if we sign the Dwightmare. He pouts when he doesn't think he is getting his touches. Not sure why anyone would want him here after seeing what is happening to the Lakers. Dwight is a "Me First" player not a "Team First" player and would not fit well here. We have goof chemistry now. Dwight would ruin that.
No way! Give me Chris Bosh. If Josh Smith declined to to lack of athleticism, he would be completely useless. If Bosh declines, he would be just fine due to his jump shooting abilities.
What if we get his buddy Rondo thrown in for free for agreeing to take Smith? Detroit would have to send all of the compensation to Boston.
Because of fit... no. Bosh would be your next acquisition in line after the big name guys (Lebron, Melo, Love). After Bosh I'd look at trades but more like in this order - Horford (maybe even prefer him over Bosh given his awesome contract) Millsap (great fit all around & great contract albeit expiring) Rondo (only real PG i'd look at trading real assets for) R. Anderson (re-work the Asik trade) Gallinari (probably get him at a discount) and then Josh Smith (but wouldn't have to give up much assets to get him) I love the versatility he gives you and the defense would be great, but you are still undersized against the elite PF's in the NBA (Dirk, Duncan, LMA) and you have issues with spacing (can't shoot).
Guys (and chicks), if there isn't a damn good reason to bump these old threads, then leave them be! These nonsensical bumps usually end up with the thread locked, and then if there is a good reason to bump them, chances are you can't. Just some friendly advice. - Put on your thinking caps, people.
