My bad guess I just made up all of the people on this board "not wanting Dwight or his diva attitude." Even if getting Dwight and smith isn't possible, you could still sign Dwight and trade asik, tjones, dmo for another really good piece. Whether you want to admit it or not Dwight is the most readily available star we could put next to harden. Who else do you suggest?
Are you really saying you DON'T want a Harden/Howard/Smith big 3!? If we can pull this off we would be right up there with OKC and Miami
Sign Chris Paul and trade Lin and Asik for Howard. Then we'll have Paul, Harden, Parsons and Howard. One of all these young PFs will develop into good player. Win a championship in next two years.
Talent wise yes, but is the Lakers with Howard/Kobe/Gasol/Nash right up there with OKC, Miami (and let me add what you missed) or EVEN Spurs?
Dwight Howard is a bad idea for a team that runs like the Rockets. Not to mention his terrible lockerroom prescence and unwillingness to play unselfish team basketball. Also showing signs of breaking down. I'd welcome Josh Smith or Paul Millsap. Also hope they make a run at Iguodala to pair with Smith or Millsap. As he's the best perimeter defender in the NBA and is battling Asik for DPOY and he's a great third or fourth option offensively on the floor. I think they could sign both Millsap (4 yrs 36 mil) and Iguodala (4 yrs 32 mil) for under the 20 mil they have in cap space. Then you could fathomably look at acquiring a player via trade with young talent or S&T for picks. I doubt Josh Smith would hold on that long. But Aldridge or Love could be available via trade. Or just hold onto those assets for a 2014 S&T with that outstanding free agent class.
not one, not two, not three, not four, no no no not five or six or seven or eight, not even nine or ten. we talking 20s, 30s, 40s. kiss the rings b****
Howard doesn't want to be in LA, Kobe is 34, Nash is 39, and Gasol is 32. If he signs here, obviously he will want to be here. Harden will be 24, Smith will be 28, Parsons and Lin will be 25.
Pure ignorance = Lebron, Wade and Bosh took a paycut, but it is impossible for anyone else to do this? The truth is although it is fairly certain that Dwight will get the max, Josh Smith is less of a lock. There are also things called exceptions, and sign and trades. The bottom line is anything is possible. With the Rockets having around 10 players on rookie scale deals, it is much easier than it would be for most teams to fill a roster. No matter how unlikely, the purpose of this thread was to discuss whether or not this would be a good idea even if by some rare chance it did happen. Seems more like you are upset because the masses disagree with you than anything. My personal opinion is Josh Smith would be a great fit, but Dwight would be redundant and more risky. I think Asik would be a less risky and costly option. However if there was any chance I would take it, because when you put those guys together then you get tag alongs ready to play for the minimum or at a discount like Ray Allen
idk... it depends on who we give up. If we have to add lin with Asik that would change up our dynamic backcourt. I'd do a straight up Asik for Dwight, one of our prospects and a pick but if we give up lin whos going to run point?
that's what I've been saying all along, for a s&t, they'd take asik rather than lose him for nothing, maybe they'd even take royce white off our hands to salary match, lol
How do you guys think the Lakers would do if they got Pau Gasol, Nash, and Dwight Howard along with Kobe Bryant?
I think Josh Smith would be fun to watch on the Rockets but I think DH's ship has sailed. Not the same player and injury prone lately. Asik is doing great and fits with the team well. I wasn't sold on him at all when we got him. Hard worker type and doesn't take plays off. It's weird what a difference a season makes. Who'd have thought we'd be above the Lakers at this point?
The Darnell Docket reference was in regards to the woman he was trying to woo...in AJ McCarron's GF: Katherine Webb...and my post was really just a sarcastic response to the OP...its not happening...
Josh and Dwight? Hell yeah! Josh and Dwight is never going to be as good as the original twin towers, but when you put the best center and a top 5 PF together, they are going to be as dominating as the 1st version. And looking at the league, the next 5-8 years will be between lebron and durant. For any other team to delodge them, you need someone that can hang on with those 2, and you hit team at their weakest position, center. The only significant player i can remember that plays Diva when their team is actually winning is Kobe during the Kobe and Shaq days.
