University Blue, Lewis has much more upside than Croshere, and more athleticism. Lewis would also fit better with Houston's style than Croshere, although both would fit the style. I would take Lewis over Croshere.

Athleticism aside, there must have been something about Lewis that Houston did not like (to not select him in the draft). Maybe they were trying to make a point about not selecting under-classmen.

Lewis vs Croshere? I prefer Croshere because he plays with (more) intensity.

    C Collier
    PF Rawlings
    SF Croshere
    SG Langhi
    PG Drew

That would be an interesting line-up.

    C Collier
    PF Cato
    SF Croshere
    SG Anderson
    PG Francis

That would be a respectable line-up.

Has anyone ever had a 6'11" shooting guard?

If Rashardi wants to come to Houston he can take a bus.

    Nowitzki's played SG at times.

Collier is Seven Foot and Left Handed. How can you go wrong?
    Trade or bench Kenny Thomas.

Lately I have heard a lot about Rashard longing to come to Houston. He would fit very well with the players and style the Rockets have and play. This makes me think that Rasard might be willing to do what Shandon did and sign for less money, knowing he will get rewarded with a bigger contract next year when the Rockets have cap room. Either that, or within the next 3 years I am pretty sure he will be a Rocket either by trade, or of the free agent market. I really hope we get Rashard, he would be a great addition.

The only problem is, that Rashard is a restricted. I can guarantee if Shandon was restricted, he'd still be a Jazz. The only way we get him, is via sign/trade, and if Seattle can sign/trade, they can sign him, and they'd choose to sign him over a sign/trade. Things would have to fall a strange way, involving lots of politics, for Rashard to be a Rocket next year.

University Blue-- By now, Lewis must realize that the NBA is a business. How can he really hold anything against the Rockets when he is strongly considering bolting the Sonics? It is a two-way street, nez pa?

You can forget about Lewis coming here for the minimum next year and a big payoff the next year. We won't have his Bird rights, we would only be able to offer him a 20% raise.
I don't understand the attraction to this guy, I guess his 8 ppg would fit in on a team where Rogers, Thomas, and Cato all averaged 8 ppg. I think Collier has that 4th
8 ppg slot filled perfectly, so don't even talk about Croshere coming in here with his
    weak 7 points per.

As several have attempted to point out:

He is a restricted Free Agent.

It means that the home team (Seattle) has the right to match anyone's offer up to a maximum amount ($3.8M/year this year I believe). That means whom ever wants him has to at least beat that set figure. Anything lower and HE MUST STAY IN SEATTLE. He does not have a choice. And even then, Seattle can suprcede it with a higher offer. But Rashard does not have to accept any Seattle offer as binding, after that figure has been surpassed.

It is unlikely he would accept a payment lower than that. Why should he?

The only way we get him is ifall of these things happen without a hitch:

.....1. Rashard throws caution to the wind and steadfastly holds he wants to play in Houston, "make me a deal" to do that.

.....2. Seattle accepts the challenge and agrees to do just that.

.....3. Houston has someone to offer Seattle that they would accept as proper compensation for Rashard.

    Answers:

    1. He and his fanmily has had some harsh words and has had other problems with the Rockets. His lamenting to be in Houston, could just as easily be pre-negotiating spin to exact a higher deal with Seattle. Or, conversely he really wants out of Seattle because he is smart and sees the writting on the wall.

    2. Highly unlikely. They may just allow him to scurry around for a while then refuse to accept his ultimatums. Teams, contrary to popular belief, do not like to be blackmailed into action.

    3. Who in the hell do we have that we can trade to Seattle that they would really want? Someone who would help them. Someone who does not hurt us irreaparably. Some one. But Who? Huh?

The Fly in The Oinment of My Argument

Well, it just may be that Rashard will take the high road and tell Houston to do whatever it takes. He may tell Seattle I will NOT be playing for you next year, so deal with Houston. And Houston only. We may have an upper hand in that somehow. We may be able to get them to accept either KT, Carlos or Drew to cover the trade (and use our October deadlined trade exemption) and save them some cap to boot. But man that is a long shot. I say we don't have much chance in landing him. Sorry!

I am absolutely sure they would make deal with us to get Rashard Lewis for almost nothing, if by doing so, they could unload Vinnie Baker on us. But, CD and RT are not stupid. Like I said ..... I say we don't have much chance in landing Rashard Lewis.
