If Rashard Lewis didn't go to HS in Houston, would he still exist?

I hope they go after Lamar first, but I would not be unhappy if Lewis came home to play. We are talking about a guy with a boat load of talent.

    Troy,

Why would Cat and Francis not want him on the team?

    Own up..what do you hear?

Ha! Funny guy. Ms. Hooker isn't exactly my type. The waitress that kind of resembles a young Liz Tyler is more my style(if I didn't already have a great girlfriend). BTW, you guys should have stuck around. Our waitress invited me to go have drinks with some of the other girls there after they got off work.

Back on topic though, no I don't think we'd be near as interested if Rashard weren't from H-Town. He's a nice player with alot to offer, but I don't think he is a max guy yet.

It's becoming quite obvious the Rashard stole your girlfriend in high school. I think you should seek consuling for your emotional problems.

Maybe his numbers don't impress you. That wasn't the initial reason for my reply. It was your "he is dumb" rant. Look in the mirror, son.

He will get more money from the Sonics regardless of what the Rockets do.

The Rockets will have plenty of offensive weapons next year: Steve Francis, Cuttino Mobley, Eddie Griffin, and Maurice Taylor. Therefore, Rashard Lewis will probably be a third or fourth option on this team - and I don't think he would be happy with a diminished role on offense. That's why we shouldn't try to pursue him. If we really want him, then we should try to get rid of Maurice Taylor.

Fantasy value-wise, Rashard's a great player. But Fantasy value doesn't win championships, just ask Shareef Abdur Rahim.

For all those supporting Lewis, I would really like to hear your argument on his glaring weaknesses that will become more and more obvious in a playoff atmosphere. You better beleive I'd love my chances if Rashard was the opposing team's SF. He can't handle the ball. He can't defend. He can't post-up. He's such a liability. With a shotblocking monster like EG defending him, what can he possibly achieve?

Show me his strengths, versus the weaknesses I just mentioned. There are only so many basic attributes you need to have. Rashard is missing 3 big ones.

Listen. I'm not saying he's trash. He's a very good player. Like an EXCELLENT 3rd best player on a team. MAX player? Not even close. Cornerstone? Possibly in 2 years.

A team would be killing themselves by giing him the MAX. That would be almost $38M locked up in three players for the Sonics. Not very good. Wouldn't be smart for us either to give him the MAX.

For a maximum of $5M, I'd love to have him. That's all. $5M for him, is the equivalent of giving Odom $10M, because he does so much more of what we need.
