If players stay, VG goes. If VG stays then players go.

It's ironic hearing Alston sing VG's praises. He would be a back up at best if just about any other coach were brought in. Likewise our power forwards. Having said that I do believe that VG got the most out of this group. They are not a run and gun team like Les is quoted as wanting. They are exactly what they are. Two exceptional half court players and a bunch of one dimensional role players.

If VG stays we need to find a way to get a starting PG and PF with Sura-like pitt bull mentalities. I think also that VG would know what to do with a team like Phoenix/GS but he needs those type of players to do it.

So there is the rub. Certain players can only stay on this team if VG stays. Kind of the same way people accuse VG with having a short leash on some players. Maybe Spanoulis or Wells could have played more for a Rick Adelman or a Terry Porter as coach.
