What would you prefer? Thunder offered SGA and #6 and were turned down. If they threw in our picks back I would have to think about it... Maybe middle ground would be SGA, #6, and adding top 5 protections to our picks? SGA would look good with Porter...
No way I’d take that offer, would listen to an offer from the Magic or Raptors though. Still, just take Cade or Mobley since both are franchise changers.
Lol if u think OKC would offer up more for the 2nd pick than they did for the 1st. if Cade falls to 2, then the Rockets are taking him, and that will be that we have full control of our picks in 2022 and 2023…if our core is still nothing special after 2 more drafts to the point that our 2024 and 2026 picks with light protections to OKC have significant meaning, then smh, we’re screwed…people need to stop obsessing over those picks we will have unprotected BK picks in 2024 and 2026 to offset losing those picks Shai is a very nice young player. I wonder why OKC would already be looking to move him? He played in just 35 games last year, and he’ll be getting whatever his max is next season. They don’t want to pay him? They’re that high on Cade?
Then we draft Cade A 6’8 point guard who shot 40% from 3….. sounds like the best SF or PF we have had in a long time I want Green but not if Detroit is dumb enough to pass on Cade
I don’t think Detroit, Houston or Cleveland want to drop out of the top 3. Talk of whether it’s a 4-player, 5-player, 6-player draft, I think it’s a 3-player draft and those top 3 teams don’t want to trade back beyond 3 and miss out on Cunningham, Mobley, or Green. I don’t like the fit between SGA and KPJ at all. I think I’d rather have #5, #8, and Jonathan Isaac from Orlando. Or #4 and Onuoby from Toronto.
Let's be realistic here. If Detroit was going to pass on Cade then they would make any trade they could with the Rockets to get some additional assets. They know without a doubt Houston would pick him #1 so they wouldn't have any quarrels about trading that pick and still getting the one they wanted. Whoever has the #1 pick this year will pick Cade
If Pistons pass on Cade, you laugh at them for it and take Cade while preparing a thank you letter to Detroit for being morons.
Shai Good bye means OKC wants to win the $ war not the competitive battles. They just may keep the Process proceeding til Sam Bam the Man Hinkle is back with his twinkle.
Forget the "sweetener." I'd trade for 2 for 6 and SGA without hesitation. KPJ SGA Barnes / Kuminga Tate Wood I also don't buy that OKC actually offered SGA and 6 for 1, but that's another story.
I dont understand why OKC wouldn't want to pay Shai. 6’6” SG, 23 years old with 50/40 shooting splits and good secondary playmaker. To be that efficient on a bad team requires serious skill. This isn't Jerry Stackhouse putting up 30 a game while shooting 40% from the field. Paying him the junior max (no all stars or all nba bonuses) seems fair. That’s the production you hope for from a high lottery pick. Why swap out the sure thing for another dice roll?
If Jalen Green gets selected 1st I'd trade back and use Cade as one of the biggest carrots ever. Even a better offer than OKC I'd presume and hopefully Stone has reviewed that possibility with his staff and made the appropriate calls. Try to get an unprotected 1st in next years draft and odds are you would still nab a rotation player anywhere in the top 15 this year. Cade will be a fine player, but I dont see a franchise changer. I'd gear up for next year if the ROX had truly only wanted Green among this crop. Dont settle.
