Dudude do you know how many jews died during the holocaust? All these events that are happening arent even close to coming near the casualties sustained during the holocaust not only to the jews but also to many many soldiers and civilians.
Let me ask you this then. Why the hell are all these events happening now after 9/11 and howcome none of this crap happened before? If it did then why the hell was it not covered by the media back then? Is it not true that the Al Qaeda was trained by the United States for it to fight the Communists from the Soviet Regimes? Is it not true that the United States did nothing to help the Afghan people after the Soviets had been defeated and held back? Is it not true that the United States deserted the Afghan people which led to the Taliban Regime in Afghanistan? Why is it that Osama Bin Laden has not been found? Why is it that the United States, the world's foremost super power, has not been able to control Afghanistan? Where are the weapons of mass destruction in Iraq? Why are there soo many jobs in Iraq from Companies such as unical and KBR? Why is that we are hypocritical of China selling weapons to Sudan where the US sells weapons to countries all over the world? I mean c'mon guys you cant have double standards.

I wouldn't vote for him because though not all Muslim people are the enemy of the U.S., the fundamental extremist types most definitely are. And those type of extreme believers follow a warped view of the Koran which tells them that they should KILL all non-believers. Therefor I can't follow a leader who may give people like this ANY support what so ever or ANY type of leeway to conduct there abominable actions against the peace loving world. Until the world of Islam can band together to help destroy the psychopathic paramilitary wing of their "Religion of Peace" then you won't find this American supporting anything Muslim.
I guess... NOT There is no other religion on this planet that takes murder, intolerance, and chaos to the level that extremist Muslims do (in the name of God). You don't see a lot of videos of fundamentalist Christians or Buddhists cutting the heads off Muslims that they've captured.

Really - the jist of your first commentary was that you could not vote for a muslim simply because some people who claim to be of that faith are barborous, violent, nutjobs. Extending that line of reasoning makes it impossible for you to vote for any religious person (well, maybe not buddhists). As such, your point is really just a silly accusation intended to mask your obvious disdain for islam. At least be honest about it.
But you do see them trying to kill every single one of them in genocide like policies in places like Bosnia where there was an ongoing attempt to exterminate them. Sorry but the examples are there, if you really care to look.
That does not make it ok........do we let the Jews run around and now kill all the Germans they like? To ignore the fact that most of the world's terrorism these days is coming from a single religious source is crazy. It is......and I am sure the peace loving Muslims can not stand that their religion is being hijacked. But what it is making the rest of the world do is stand up and go "hmmmmm, maybe Islam is not really all that peaceful after all"...... I'm not trying to excuse it, but just pointing out that Islam isn't necessarily more violent. While there may be more terrorism, terrorism still falls short on the scale when compared to genocide.
Not to the individual being killed it doesn't. If you break it down on an individual basis, it is no different, and just as adhorent. Murder and killing in the name of anything, especially God should not be tolerated. Look at all the terrorist activity just this year in the name of Islam Almost all of it....pathetic...... DD
I agree that it shouldn't be tolerated. But if we are talking about a world wide scale, then genocide trumps terrorism IMHO. I wasn't trying to say that one religion is worse than another and see who can compile a list of evil deeds done under each separate religion. I was trying to point out that it is futile to do so, because the lists would be so long as to obfuscate the actual immorality of any of it. When people say one is much worse than the others it tends to make the crimes of the others get overlooked. That's bad especially when there probably isn't a real significant difference in terms of which group has done worse things.
I completely agree with this post. But none of the above would make me stand up and say "I absolutely will not vote for a muslim". It's way more complicated than that.

I'll just say that I don't have a general disdain for Islam, but I loathe terrorism and Islam is behind most all terrorism these days... and so therefor I would rather die than have a Muslim as the president of the United States. DD summed up my stance with one sentence: which is just a nicer way of saying what I said in my original post
I am hoping maybe someone can help with this, there is a book I am looking for.. Several months ago, I heard an interview of the guy who was the lead investigator in the '93 WTC bombing case, the guy who compiled the evidence against 'Blind Sheik What's-his-name'. He wrote a book about the experience, but I can't remember the name of it. Does this ring a bell for anyone? Putting this here instead of a new thread because ultimately it pertains to the subject matter being discussed. Thanks...
I think many would be lying if they said religion didn't matter, because for me and others I know, it is important to know what his ethics are and what he feels on ceratin issues.
