Because of a bunch of closet Knicks fans hoping to dump Melo for a boatload because he is walking in the 2014 off season?

Id rather take that space and go for cp3 or love instead. Its all about chemistry and i just dont think harden and melo can mix together.

 

Melo cant co-exsist with any elite player.

 

Not really a big fan of his but in his defense, only elite guy hes played with was probably biggest ballhog of his generation.

 

Miami took a ball dominant SG who led his team to a title, matched him up with a ball dominant SF who carried his team to one Finals and a non-ball dominant PF/C who only led his team to the 2nd round.

Different personalities + different areas of dominance + different motivations. One tried to be a leader, but was not ready yet. One was a natural leader. One wanted to win, but without the responsibilities and have fun along the way.

Yet, it worked because each and every one starved for the title.

So why do you doubt Harden-Howard-Melo?

If you get a chance at that squad, you don't think twice.

 

Right now harden is about 2% fg better than melo. Melo has better 3 fg%, a bit more ppg, and 3 more boards. Last year, melo was scoring champ. He'd be a great addition to this team.

 

I'd wonder how that would match up with harden ISo vs melo ISo, if I were to choose, I'd say melo ISo way better than harden.

 

Why are we comparing Melo to Harden? As the Knicks aren't getting Harden in the trade. If it's about usage, Harden's efficiency stats is a bit inflated from transition points. While Melo's efficiency deflated from playing with Felton. In a half court setting, very few players can score as well as Melo. I would even include Harden if you're talking pure iso and not PnR. Melo can also pnr quite well too when he actually feels like it.

On paper is actually an incredible fit. The Rockets would then need to find some hard nose defenders around them, but in terms of top shelf talent it would be the best in the NBA IMO.

 

Because we get a third superstar
