i don't hate him, but he's certainly not better than mcgrady. look at it this way: in his last game, he went 0-10 with 2 pts and his team still won scoring 109 pts. manu is the x-factor and has always been one for the spurs. if he plays well, they go to another level. if he doesn't, they can still win without him. he's not and never been a guy the spurs depend on entirely.
yeah once Yao gets back next year it'll be a different story, esp. if the team makes some noise later in the season.
Huh? He said McGrady was better than Ginobili. If that's true, McGrady's next contract should be more lucrative than Ginobili's. The reason for this being that better players get better contracts than worse players. Correct?
Mac>Manu Sucks he's gone from the Rockets. Why couldn't we all just get along. Whyyyy!!!!????? <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/oUyLHhooG10&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/oUyLHhooG10&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
how. the spurs and the rockets where two completely different teams. One relying on two superstars to do everything and another have a decent big three and a bunch of veterans. You really think Manu could replace mcgrady and have a bigger impact? A lot of players are efficient in this league, and many of them are role players aswell. What i am saying is Manu makes for a great role player,(and he sometimes shows flashes of brilliance) but he has never been on a superstar status.
What do you mean "not really"? My post didn't say anything about Ginobili. I said McGrady is a different player than he was a couple years ago and this team is different as well. Do you dispute that??
The Spurs were the team the Rockets were trying to copy in the TMac/Yao era. Dominant throw-it-in-to big man (Duncan/Yao), All-star creator and ball handler (Parker/TMac ... although they play different positions), and surround them with serviceable players that can shoot the 3. Look at the Spurs this season ... Parker 33% from 3 (but AFG% 50%), but everyone else Jefferson, Ginobolli, Hill, Bonner, Mason, Finley & Bogans all shoot between 37% and 45% from 3. Apart from Aaron at 40%, we don't have anyone shooting over 35% from 3.
I... thoroughly dislike Manu Ginobili's constant habitual over-dramatic over-rewarded super flops. Otherwise he's a fantastic streaky athletic wing.
