Why should they have all the fun? I had a Tmac for Manu thread like 2 years ago, and would have done the trade then....

I think DM should be on his doorstep this offseason on July 1st at midnight with Scola, a full MLE offer, and a box of chocolate.

Imagine an efficient wing that plays like THIS:

    On our team.....YES PLEASE !

Manu's going to be 33 years old this offseason. Yikes.
But, I agree that we need someone like him

Still thread is irrelevant outside of showing what people thought 2 years ago. Come on DD, you should be better than that. Outside of a trade for Tracy, I'm sick of hearing about him.

I don't take it as seriously, I just wanted to show that gif, it is amazing, and one of the reasons I wanted him over Tmac a couple of years ago....

He plays ball the way this team plays NOW, only he is also an effecient offensive player.

I would go after him with a 3 year full MLE deal this offseason.....

I can't believe I used to argue that Cuttino Mobley was better than Ginobili. Granted this was when Cuttino had the best first step in the league and Ginobili didn't have a jump shot.

yes yes, nothing better than patting yourself on the back. I agree with you, I think he'd be a hellva pick up for the MLE if the Spurs let him go, maybe a new thread would have been a great place to start that discussion and post that gif.

    I'm just saying...

But this is only his 8th year. He has plenty left. Much more than someone like McGrady, for example, who's only 30 but is in his 14th season.

Nah, this is the right place.....I would have posted it in the Tmac for Manu trade thread I had, but it got locked...lol.

Sometimes it is fun to stick out your tongue and go....pfffffftttt....especially when you get ripped for even suggesting such a thing ....even though....uh....it was right all along.

if we had Manu and Scola on the same team with Yao, we'd be the favorite team of all south america as well as china.

    plus we'd be serious contenders.

especially because many posters here will make your life hell for suggesting things that they don't agree with, no matter how well supported those suggestions might be. i have come close to posting "there, i told you so" as my response to numerous threads, before remembering that it doesnt matter and nobody cares. haha.

Hey now, all I ever said about VSpan was that Rafer sucked and he should be getting a looksee to find out if he was part of the future.

But even that gets twisted...on here....I liked his potential for sure, still think he could be something on an NBA level.....but he bailed on the team after fighting with a control freak of a coach.....can't blame him for doing what he thought was best for his career and we got Scola so....all is good.

I would still sign him as a free agent though if he decided to come back...

    ;)

I would go ahead and do it......if people are going to criticize they should expect it.

It is better to expose them IMO....lord knows when I am wrong, people post about it to me.....

    Langhi - cough - cough.....

The McGrady of 2007-2008 (which at the time was considered a down year) is a bit different from the Mcgrady of 2009-2010. The Rockets of 2007-2008 are very different from the Rockets of 2009-2010. Things have changed and the arguments in this thread are dated, to say the least.

Not really, Manu was a better team player then and is still one now....it is just that people now have realized that some of us were well ahead of the curve in figuring it out.

Can't you replace VSpan with Chase and Rafer with Trevor and make the same arguement on the current team and RA?

You sure could.......Actually I think we need a 2nd penetrating player in the starting lineup.....it is why Lowry and Brooks work so well together but Lowry is too short.

Vspan is 6'4".....he would fit in nicely with Aaron Brooks, IMO.

with a player that has always had a history of laziness, self-aggrandizement, coasting, and putting his interests above those of the team and organization, it was just a matter of time. count me among those that were just hoping this wouldn't happen until he was done as a Rocket. i think many people familiar with tracy's history knew that at some point, it was always going to come to this. he is a sell-high player if there ever was one.

Once JVG left, and that was a good thing, Tmac should have gone then too....

JVG, for all his faults, was great at getting the best out of Tmac, he needs someone to coddle him and challenge him....

Rick Adelman is like Rudy, he is better with self motivated players.....Tracy should have been traded when JVG left, IMO....

I don't blame the organization for seeing what they could do, but when Tmac starting b****ing early about Rick's offense and his lack of touches, it was obvious that he was more about his status as an alleged icon than he was about winning basketball.

Sometimes it takes fans a while to see the truth.....now we are going to get stuck trading him for a can of spam when we could have had filet manugnot.

    ;)

the prevailing "rumor" is that people wanted to trade Tracy back then, but were not allowed to.

the fact that the rockets are on tnt/espn exactly zero times this year, after losing their superstars, is a major reason why he was kept. he is still a superstar in name, if not in game, afterall.

for all his faults, he and yao kept the rockets in the national consciousness.
