I didn't vote in the poll (again, only vote in public polls except when Clutch starts a non-public one, although I broke my own rule a couple of days ago), and might have missed seeing your post, tinman, but have to agree that those pajamas were a form of torture inflicted upon RedNation by our owner. Since this was bumped, I'll repeat that I wouldn't trade Les Alexander for Mark Cuban. Cuban's a smart guy. So smart that he's outsmarted himself. The couple of contracts he handed out after Jordan bailed on him were absurd. Morey would never have done that and neither would Les. Alexander is a crafty, sneaky smart businessman, with the good sense to lock up Daryl. That makes him aces, in my book. That and scoreboard. Two championships to one for Cuban, and another looks very far away for the Mavs, while we're legitimate contenders for #3.

If Forbes is any indicator, Rockets are "worth" more.

As far as being a FA destination, that's an And 1.

Props to Cuban for making things outside the cap matter more like state of the art facilities and having modern amenities like a decked and teched out locker room, except if Les were really penny pinching, the analytics team wouldn't be top notch and we wouldn't have paid for 2nd round draft picks which, because of amore's brilliance, we take for granted.

I'll be first to blame les for handcuffing Morey over several different past issues, but I'm not sure what Donnie Nelson jr brings outside of international scouting.

Let's also forget the nastiness with Nelson Sr.

The way I see it, les has been very unemotional to what people in clutchcity felt strong sentimental value to...Rudy t, turbo,Calvin Murphy, the unis...I can see where that can sour a person, but he's always had his eye on winning and being competitive.

The term carpetbagger means a foreigner who doesn't care to learn the ways and imposes his will. The part of not caring about success and more of the individual bottom line is where he doesn't apply to that definition.

And holy **** he's been owner for 20 years, yet there's still people clenching their buttholes of him moving to a different city. He might not be lovable as a person but give some credit.

You got me there, been to a few Mavs games and don't see what would cause them to have such high attendance, aside from being good for the last decade.

However, I'll just assume you've conceded the point that Cuban turned the team around since Dirk was drafted and traded by Nelson two years before Cuban owned it. Cuban just isn't good at the basketball side of the business.

I don't know, Pachulia, Dirk, Parsons, that Indian guy. . . . I can see why Tinman loves the Mavs. They suck, but they do have attendance numbers. That's basically the only thing I follow throughout the season: attendance numbers. And which owner touches his players more during the games.

    Sure I have.

I don't know nearly as much about being a Dallas fan as you do; I'll admit that.

Admittedly, I am kind of enjoying bullying Tinman. That's what it is and it's not noble. He's a scrapper! Trolls his own team's board, which is weird. If he didn't attack other posters, I wouldn't push him around.

You couldn't push around monkeys on a swing.

All you are doing is making this old ass thread more popular than ever.

It's the classic, i don't like tinman but I'm going to post on all his threads like white on rice

Some posters just hold grudges and feel they are "owed" something. The Roxs have been a better managed franchise if you look at on how much they are worth.

The Mavs had a truly HOF PF in Dirk so it's not surprising they've had more success post 2000. Cuban inherited Dirk and has built some good and bad teams around Dirk. I'd bet the Mavs would have better with Les as the owner.

My favorite part is that LosPollosHermanos ended up paying $10 to the tip jar because he started riding the Cu99an tip with you. Your threads are so dumb they actually cost people money.

Honestly, are you retired? Trolling internet forums is a sign of unemployment, retirement, or just being a miserable person. Which one is it?
