If Les Alexander and Mark Cuban switched teams, would the Rockets be better?

I think you missed my point, which was that Parsons doesn't really have "no ceiling" and that Morey was just being generous in that interview.

 

I know that Les Alexander owned the Rockets in 1994 and 1995, he made the trade for Clyde Drexler, and there is one thing Mark Cuban will never be able to do- say this:

''I had the greatest player in the universe on my team; you can't get any better than that,'' Alexander said. ''Without Hakeem, that (title) would have been impossible. Without him, there would be no Clutch City.''

I no longer vote in non-public polls, but I can give my answer in a post. My answer is NO! Les may not be perfect, but I very much doubt that any NBA owner fits that description. He did have the good sense to hire Daryl Morey, however, and as best as I can tell, doesn't interject his emotional peccadillos into running his franchise, as Cuban does. There is one other minor detail I'll add. Scoreboard. We have won two championships with Alexander as owner. Cuban, with his ego leading the way, has managed one.

 

I think health is also a big factor. Cuban for the life of his team has Dirk, and at that a relatively healthy Dirk. The Rockets have gone through SF3, Yao, Tmac, and now Harden and Howard as the key pieces to their respective teams. That's why comparing the two teams is hard. It's like looking at the Spurs and trying emulate their model. The Spurs were as good as they were lucky. It was an even balance.

 

You'd take Cuban over the only championship owner in Rockets history. You're not as good of a Rockets fan as you think. And I don't know what a 99er is, but if you mean time, well, being an 80er who remember Derrick Chievous, Lewis Lloyd, Chuck Nevitt, Mike Dunleavy, Robert Reid and Sampson as well as the 90s teams, I got you beat.

Looking at some of your posts, you're not really that good of a Rockets fan. Luckily, dude, there are a lot better Rockets fans than you on this board who balance out your negative crap. <owned>

 

I lived in houston in the 1990s. I was on the lawn at Edloe and the freeway during game 6. On that Richmond street during game 7 in 1994. Watched every game. I lived it more than you, actually.

You're not that great of a Rockets fan. You're way more negative about Rockets history than you should be. And you prefer Cuban. You're a closet Mavs fan. Mavs suck and you.

Really? Those are your examples. Weak sauce man. A lot of teams experimented with ugly uniforms in the 90s (Detroit comes to mind for me instantly).

Yeah, b/c I am a Spurs and Rockets fan. Lived in both places. Never in Dallas. Would consider death by torture first. Rockets are great, Spurs are great, Mavs are the bottom. Rockets fan all 80s and 90s, Spurs all 2000s. Rockets all-time great, Spurs all-time great, Mavs all-time evil.

 

Basketball Hall of Fame should have a building for the Houston Rockets, and a building for the San Antonio Spurs. Mavs? Put their name on an outhouse between both.
