That time has long gone my friend. McGrady hasn't been much of a defender since that Dallas series. He's been saving his energy for offense and he needs that energy now more than ever...

Excellent example. You guys are giving up way to easy. Good thing neither one of you play or work for the Rockets.

Too many variables. I would rather build the Rockets up to Championship level and take our chances then. Than have Lebron lessen that chance by going to New York. We dont know what could happen during a season. Wade is starting to be injury prone and he could go down in the playoffs before they play us in the Finals with our Knicks high draft pick as our star or the guy we traded with those picks? Then we could easily beatthem because they are depleted or dont have Chemistry like our team. The most important thing is being able to compete and worrying about your abillities before you start worring about how they are gonna do. It wont matter if we cant there to challenge them.

You have to beleive in the team that we have here. This is not a team of scrubs that we have. Three of our starting five can go for twenty plus on any given night. We have one of the best benches in the league. Remember? ;) There aren't enough role players to fill out that team if/when Lebron signs with them. Their bench will more than likely be garbage.

Which one of these big three are gonna guard Brooks and Yao? They have that whats his face at point but he is not Brooks. and nobody is Yao on the free agent market or even a depleted Yao.

I don't like Lebron going to Heat. Stern will make a serie of Heat Laker finals for max TV rating. That means Rockets won't beat Laker no matter how hard they try. That's really bad.

Some fan you are z. Have you noticed that we have a complete team. The Heat will not have a complete team any time soon due to the lack of funds to do so. Like Totamatis said, they will have a so-so center, PG and bench.

Wev've seen what the celtics can do with all-star's ray, garnette, and pierce guys at the end of their careers, imagine what prime superstar's lebron, wade, and bosh will due for the next decade :(

I wouldn't mind seeing them beat the Lakers though :)

Part of what you're saying is true, but the Celtics had more depth this season than the Heat have at the moment. They don't have a Rondo, or a Perkins, or even a Glen Davis on their roster right now. The core would be great were James to go there, but to win championships, you gotta have more depth than the Heat contain in my opinion.

Celtics still only won one Championship and that was with Rondo also to their big three, Cassel I believe that year, Perkins, and alot of good role players. Heat might not havethat there. They certainly dont have a Perkins or Rondo. Which is kinda like taking them down a notch since Rondo was like having a fourth allstar for Boston.

The Heat won't have the same kind of big 3. KG is a great rebounder and defender and was defensive player of the year when they won the ring. Bosh is a good rebounder but not even close to the defender that KG is. Paul Pierce is a slashing guard/forward with great range and Ray Allen is one of the greatest shooters of all time that you can run off of screens. Point is that all three players games were different than the others. I see a lot of overlap between Lebron and Wade's game and neither of the two is a great shooter. The Heat are going to need some quality shooters before they are ready to compete with the Lakers.

    PG - Fisher/Blake v. Chalmers (Advantage Lakers)
SG - Kobe v. Wade (Advantage Lakers)
SF - Artest v. James (Advantage Heat)
PF - Pau v. Bosh (Close but in the playoffs I think you have to go with Pau)
C- Bynum v. whoever they get (Advantage Lakers)

The Lakers still have the advantage at 3 of 5 positions and possibly 4 if you think Pau is better than Bosh. Plus the Lakers will likely have the better bench. We should be worried about beating the Lakers before we even think about a possible Big 3 problem.

For a second there I thought you were going to say the non-obvious point but I was proven wrong. Look, I don't think Morey was right that this team will win 45 games. I imagine they post a very legit regular season record(around 60 wins) because they are young talented players who can afford to bring it every night in the regular season BUT I think Orlando is still a better team and possibly Boston too if they can hold it together one more year.

....the thing I think is interesting about the Knicks picks is this. If all the stars stayed on their teams and Knicks just had Amare, the Knicks are likely losing 3 or 4 times to Cleveland, 2 or 3 times to Miami, and 2 times to Toronto. Bosh defected from Toronto so that gives NY likely a few extra wins because it's going to be a mess up there in the T-dot. Then if Lebron leaves Cleveland, that makes them a mess too and means the Knicks might actually win their series matchup with them. Of course the Knicks probably lose 4 games to Miami in that scenario but the concentration of power would likely give the Knicks several extra wins AND considering Cleveland is likely no longer a playoff team, I think it opens the door for New York to get into the playoffs pretty easily given the addition of Amare and the lowered number of talented teams in the East....so ya, I'm not expecting those picks to be lotto picks if Lebron goes to Miami.

I am enjoying immensely. For the reason that Lakers fans are suffering all over ESPNs comment boards right now. Having intestinal problems and rage berzerkers over how unfair it is. I am just egging them on and loving their misery over it. I know I am evil.

Why do you need to fear the Heat?
Bosh is overrated, Scola can handle him.
We have Battier to stop Lebron.
Wade will be busy chasing either Martin or Brooks.
Who the F on the Heat can stop Yao?

Let's worry about the Lakers before we worry about the eastern conference team!
