Wait - why was the greatest player ever in the history of the game not the 1st option on his own team?

That still wasn't as bad as Kobe's shutdown in the second half of a Game 7 in Phoenix three years ago, when he went into sleep mode like an unattended computer and took only three shots. And LeBron's never gone three years without winning a playoff series, as Kobe did from 2005 through 2007.

I don't listen to many radio/shows except when I'm in my car. I've just lately checked out Cleveland shows just to get the pulse during this series. I'm amazed (not in a good way) at some of the reactions.

I've listened to Moohead here and there during the Browns' seasons. Have you been listening? How's it been? Are you a Cleveland fan?

    You apparently missed the point.

I asked a rhetorical question, which I answered. Horry is not considered the greatest player ever because there is a lot more that goes into it than winning championships with different cores.

If all else was equal between Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan and you want to argue that Kobe has had the better career because he won with different teammates, that would actually be a compelling argument.

But all else isn't equal. Not even close. There's the statistical argument, which is overwhelmingly (not "maybe") in Jordan's favor. But go even beyond that. Jordan has SIX Finals MVPs. Jordan has FOUR regular season MVPs. Jordan was the undisputed leader on every championship team he played on. He was the offensive focus of every championship team he played on. Kobe was the best player on only ONE of his four championship teams. Kobe needed another elite post player to run the offense through on each of his championship teams.

Thanks for posting that, I needed the laugh.

This is the same KG that's been known for disappearing in big moments throughout his career, right?

Not to derail this thread, but yeah LOL at KG being the most "mentally" touch player. He is not mentally or physically tough. Just cause he likes to pick on guys a foot shorter then him and can bang his chest the loudest does not make him tough at anything.

In case you can't tell, I absolutely HATE Kevin Garnett.

If you're ring counting to determine greatness, do it right, Russell was the greatest player of all time using that criterion.

If you're using dominance and statistical production to determine greatness, do it right, Wilt was the greatest of all time.

If you're using a combination of rings and stats, do it right, one of MJ or Kareem are the greatest of all time.

Under no criterion is Kobe Bryant the greatest player of all time. I'd take the aforementioned 4 players, Magic, Bird, Oscar Robertson, Julius Erving, Tim Duncan, Hakeem, and Shaquille O'Neal over Bryant.

He's not even the greatest of this generation, let alone comparing him to the greatest ever, its embarrassing.

Lets take it even further and say he has not being a stand out dominant player over the guys in this league to the point where you can actually say he dominated all of his peers this generation

You can say that about Shaq, and Tim Duncan, but thats it

He wont be the greatest he has a long way to go to get that tittle and hes going on 32 so I dont think he will make it. But I will say hes top 10 and if he gets two more I'll say top 5.

these laker trolls are really getting ridiculous.

kobe doesn't have the individual or team accomplishments to mess with jordan.

even kobe admits he is the greatest and there is nothing he can do to surpass him.

At this rate, Gasol has a very good chance to be in HOF.

Regardless of how well his team is playing Boston right now, Lebron James for the past 3-4 seasons has been better than Kobe Bryant EVER was.

It's really hard to rate players because of different positions, etc..

That being said, in terms of wings:

    1. Jordan
    2. Kobe
    ..
    ..
    everyone else
