The same reason why some of you wont EVER admit anybody's better than Jordan because you're emotional attachment. Kobe's the player of the decade but apparently rocket03 feels Gasol's the best Lakers player. So I understand there's Kobe hatred in this thread

Finals MVP____ Jordan 6_______ 1 Kobe
NBA MVP_____ Jordan 5_______ 1 Kobe
Scoring Titles______ Jordan 10______ 2 Kobe
Steals Leader______ Jordan 3_______ 0 Kobe
All Star Selections_______ Jordan 14______ 12 Kobe
All Star MVP_______ Jordan 3_______ 3 Kobe
All NBA Selections_______ Jordan 11______ 12 Kobe

Thats the antagonists p***y way out.

Dont antagonize and instigate, then point out how the responders are being inappropriate, trying to turn the tables. It takes 15 people to tell one antagonist to "shut the ***** up". Thats why it always looks like "haters" are in full force. It might be annoying that bees sting the hell out of you, but dont reach into their hive to make them sting you.

Normally I would agree with you, but a Faker fan trolling a Rockets board claiming a rapist is the best player of all time is too much for me.

Can someone shut this moron up, after 28 pages of non-sequitur's, and dodging he has to yet to even post one credible argument to back up his idiotic claims, and I for one abhor such abject stupidity, especially when it IS backed up by a whole lot of hot air.

EITHER ADDRESS THE FACT THAT THERE ISN'T A SINGLE STATISTIC TO BACK UP YOUR LUDICROUS CLAIMS OR STFU AND GTFO. THIS THREAD WAS CREATED BY YOU ON THE PREMISE THAT WITH ANOTHER RING "HOW CAN KOBE NOT BE CONSIDERED THE GREATEST?" AND YET YOU SEEM INCAPABLE OF DEFENDING YOUR OWN CLAIM. THIS THREAD IS NOT ABOUT PAU GASOL, OR IF KOBE IS GREAT, OR IF HE IS TOP 10.....BUT IT IS ABOUT HIM BEING THE GOAT SO STOP HIDING IN A CORNER AND ADDRESS 28 PAGES OF FACTS AND STATS POSTED BY OTHER POSTERS WHICH IRREVOCABLY REFUTE YOUR CLAIM. OTHERWISE STOP WASTING OUR TIME WITH YOUR BAGHDAD BOB IMPRESSION!

So why don't you tell why Kobe's better than Jordan? Is it because he has 5 rings to Jordan's 6? How about 1 finals MVps to Jordan's 6? 1 MVP to Jordan's 5? 1 Olympic gold medal to MJ's 2?

I'm not a Jordan fanboy, far from it, I haven't even watched a full Jordan game. What I am attached to are FACTs  You can't even give me a good reason why Kobe is somehow better than Jordan despite having less rings, season mvps and finals mvps then he does.

Player of the decade? Jordan's the top 1 of the NBA's 50 greatest players of all time

Again, wonderful stats. But what you carelessly haven't factored in is these are stats from Jordan's ENTIRE 15 year career. Theres a VERY good chance he passes MJ up in some of those categories. Kobe can realistically play another 3 or 4 years (or longer) putting up numbers like he did tonight against Phoenix.

You're the one who said "If Kobe get his ring THIS year? How is he not the greatest?"

You said THIS year. Not 3 or 4 years from now. THIS year. If Kobe wins 10 more rings with 10 Finals and season MVPs then obviously he's GOAT. But we're not talking about your hypotethetical career run Kobe will have starting next year. We're talking about this year.

It is funny how You cherry pcik the bad arguments and comment on that. I have posted this beofre in this thread:

    Jordan\ Bryant
    Years played 15\ 14
    Championships 6] \ 4
    MVP 5 \ 1
    DPY 1\ 0
    Finals MVP 6 \ 1
    All NBA 1st 10\ 8
    All NBA 2nd 1\ 2
    NBA 1st defensive team 9\ 8
    All Star games 14\ 12

    Career Average
    Points 30,1\ 25,3
    Reb 6,2\ 5,3
    Ass 5,3\ 4,7
    St 2,35\ 1,5
    Blk 0,8\ 0,6
    FG% 0,497\ 0,455
    3P FG% 0,327\ 0,34
    FT% 0,835\ 0,838

    Career Play offs Average
    Points 33,4\ 25,1
    Reb 6,4\ 5
    Ass 5,7\ 4,7
    St 2,1\ 1,4
    Blk 0,88\ 0,7
    FG% 0,487\ 0,448
    3P FG% 0,332\ 0,332
    FT% 0,828\ 0,81

Best statistical Year Excluding fewer than 40 games
    Points 37,1 (86-87)\ 35,4 (05-06)
    Reb 8 (88-89)\ 6,9 (02-03)
    Ass 8 (88-89)\ 6 (05-05)
    St 3,16 (87-88)\ 2,2 (02-03)
    Blk 1,6 (87-88)\ 1 (98-99)
    FG% 0,539 (90-91)\ 0,469 (01-02)
    3P FG% 0,427 (95-96)\ 0,383 (02-03)
    FT% 0,851 (90-91)\ 0,868 (06-07)

Based on either statistics and awards there is no way anybody can possible argue that Bryant was better than Jordan. The only things in which Bryant is better than jordan is 3point Fg and free throws, but even that is erased in the play offs.

The most important stat is the finals MVP, Jordan has 6 kobe has 1, so in only one of his finals was he the best player. How can he be the best ever when in 75% of his championships he wasn't even the best player on the team.

I think most people here are not emotionally attached to Jordan, I personally do not like him, but you cannot denie how great of a player he was. I'm not sure if Jordan is the best ever however he is certainly better than Kobe.

If Kobe somehow increases his stats, and wins another 5 championships in which he is final MVP I might say he is better than Jordan. I just do not see that happening.

Dude this the stupidest post of all time. Your a over emotional douche bag. In NO WAY could you ever tell me something I dont already know regarding the rockets. Instead of watching the game, you spent your time watching old Nancy Grace coverage of Kobe's case. What a prick LOL. You've been sonned

Again, two different eras. Considering Kobe plays 4 more years without any major injuries, he could possibly pass MJ in some categories (including rings). I wouldn't be surprised if he did. Especially when he dominates like tonight

Well, lets look at the imporant stats: championships, finals mvp, nba mvp, scoring titles, steals leader, defensive first team, all nba teams, dpoy, reg season ppg, and playoff ppg.

Of those, even if Kobe maintains his current level of play, the only ones he has a realistic shot at matching are defensive first team and championships.

There's no way he'll win 5 more finals mvp, 8 more scoring titles, 4 more mvps, 3 more steal leaders, a dpoy, or raise his scoring averages to match Jordan's.

People haven't really even mentioned Jordan's post-game, which was absolutely potent and an aspect of his game in which you could run an offense around. Of course, it might not be Shaq or Gasol in the post, good thing Jordan had Dennis Rodman manning the post for him on offense  . I don't hear many people here saying that Bryant's not good or even great, but only you seem to not know that he's not the greatest of all time. Did you even watch Shaq play during those years? Yes, he wasn't what he is now and what he was was a guy capable of grabbing 15 rebounds and dropping 30+ points on any center while shooting 60%. I'm not saying that Bryant had nothing to do with those title victories, but to say that his production was more valuable than that is ridiculous.

In 1999, the Lakers hired Phil Jackson as their new head coach, and the team's fortunes soon changed. Using Jackson's triangle offense, O'Neal and Bryant went on to enjoy tremendous success on the court, as they led the Los Angeles Lakers to three consecutive NBA titles (2000, 2001, and 2002). O'Neal was named MVP of the NBA Finals all three times and has the highest scoring average for a center in NBA Finals history.

O'Neal was also voted the 1999–2000 regular season Most Valuable Player, coming just one vote short of becoming the first unanimous MVP in NBA history.

You got that? That means sidekick.

Thanks for responding. The different era argument is in favor of Kobe? I think very few would agree.

Furthermore that doesn't change the fact that, Jordan has 6 final MVP's and kobe has only 1, so in only one of his finals was he the best player. How can he be the best ever when in 75% of his championships he wasn't even the best player on the team.

The OP said that Kobe is the best ever if he win another championship this year. In which case he hasn't passed Jordan in any of the categories.

Kobe hasn't been the best player in the league in most of his years. Jordan was. People who say Kobe should have had more MVP's apperently forgot about the MVP for Karl Malone (which I can understand, who wants to remember that award).
