If Kobe gets his ring this year, how is he not the GREATEST?

    Who cares if MJ never won anything without Pippen? Pippen was never better than MJ on any of those 6 title teams. Kobe was never better than Shaq on any of those first 3 title teams. He wasn't even 1st team NBA for some of them, and never finished higher than Shaq in MVP voting during that span. So please save your "MJ had Pippen" arguments. Jordan was the man on all of his title teams. Kobe was the man for one. How dumb do I sound trying to say Gasol led LA to the title last year? He had a bigger role in that run than Kobe had in 2000.

    kobe stans use the pippen argument but it doesn't stick even because jordan out produced pippen and had a bigger impact than pippen. cant say the same for kobe and his first 3 rings.

    even then in 2008 when kobe lost in the finals as the number 1 option gasol had 2.5 win shares. that's more win shares than scottie had during jordans 1992-93 championship.

    last year pau gasol had more win shares (4.3) in the playoffs than pippen EVER had in the playoffs (3.1)

    OK OK....ENOUGH!!! i know how to settle this once and for all. can someone get the stats or both kobe and jordan of the years they didnt have a legit big man. that tells you whos better because:

    a) no one can win a title without a legit center e
    ex) magic-kareem
    kobe-shaq gasol
    jordan- pippen, rodman

    Pippen and Rodman are good, but legit bigmen in the mold of Kareem and Shaq? No.

    Who cares? You judge players on how great they are when it counts. Not if they have a "legit" bigman. There have been PLENTY of teams with a legit bigman who haven't had any success. Kobe haters make these imaginary standards for Kobe, which sounds ridiculous

    LOL...You are the one that came in and claimed how if "Kobe gets his ring this year...how is he not the greatest".

    Everybody knows Kobe is one of the greatest, but not close to Jordan and it has been proven again and again in this thread.

    You are the one setting the standard for Kobe (that he is GOAT).

    Also much easier for a fanboi like you to discount a "legit bigman" when Kobe's had the luxury of playing and winning with a big man his entire career.

    What did Kobe do when he didn't have Shaq and Gasol? Fail to make the playoffs and give up like a little b**** in game 7 against Suns.

    History has proven again and again the big men is the single most important factor in winning a championship:

    Lakers had Magic and Kareem
    Celtics had Bird and McHale
    Rockets with Hakeem
    Lakers with Shaq and Kobe
    Spurs with Duncan
    Heat with Wade and Shaq

    Sure I'm forgetting some. Point is Kobe couldn't jack without a big guy.

    Proven as in............."Kobe's a rapist", "Kobe needed Shaq" while Shaq needed Kobe jus as much. "Pau Gasol is the leader of the Fakers" and comparing Derek Fisher to Scottie Pippen lol.

    You're emphasis on a bigman is neglecting all the other positions.

    And FYI, there are people we argue if Pau Gasol is consistently dominant. Are you gonna throw him with Shaq, Kareem & Chamberlin too?

    Keep ignoring the stats all you want. The argument is whether Kobe is GOAT right?

    Yes, I hate Kobe Bryant with a passion. I hate him more then Osama bin Laden and Adolf Hitler combined and if his arrogant punk ass got hurt in the playoffs I would throw a party at my house and eat ice cream till my stomach hurt in front of my Lebron James shrine. When did I ever say anything otherwise?

    i use to think that jordan wasnt so great that kobe couldnt surpass him... now i know kobe will never surpass him. kobe is just jordan lite

    You've been presented with overwhelming evidence (both statistical and logical) that disproves your point. Yet you persist.

    It's pretty clear that you're biased in favor of Kobe. So do you think your opinion also holds no weight?

    Biased towards Kobe? Because I defended him when you guys called him a rapist?

    First things first, you guys personally hate the man yet come in here and try to debate. Secondly, its not that you guys disagree. But some you give the guy absolutely NO CREDIT(Gasol is the Lakers best player comment LOL) Its obvious you guys have a personal vendetta. Who would guess Kobe would be player of the decade but only 2nd best on his team. According to the Kobe rapist accusers
