If Kobe gets his ring this year, how is he not the GREATEST?

There some differences here, the main one being that Scottie/Grant arrived in Jordan's 4th year when he was still a maturing player. Kobe was a seasoned vet in the middle of his prime in the years between Shaq's departure and Gasol's arrival.

It's only idiotic because you disagree. And you danced around my question.

You never answered the question, and rightfully so. How many rings did Jordan win without Pippen?

I answered your question. "ZERO" would not be an answer to the question you asked (quoting):

"Thats a idiotic statement. Micheal didn't do anything till Scottie came either, can you apply that to him as well?"

Thank you. Now next time somebody says "Well Kobe needed Shaq" or "Kobe would've anything without Gasol". Make sure you remind them that applies to Micheal as well. Being he NEEDED Pippen to get his six rings too

Great players can't win championships all by themselves. This I agree with.

But put Jordan in his prime (not Jordan from his first few seasons in the league) on those teams Kobe had between Shaq's departure and Gasol's arrival, and I think its a safe bet that he'd have had more playoff success. As Kobe himself said, it really isn't a fair comparison.

    -Statistically, Jordan is better (easily).

-Ringwise, Jordan has more (even if Kobe wins this year).

    -Dunks, Jordan's were cooler.

    -Rapes, Jordan did not commit.

Honestly, Kobe will always be second fiddle to Jordan. He's also breaking down. Gasol is probably the best player on the Lakers. Oh yeah, and Shaq was the best player for Kobe's 3 first rings.

OK, and if you take Kobe in his prime and put him on the Bulls with Scottie Pippen I think they'd be just as good. Could Jordan win with a totally different core of players? We'll never know.

We do know b/c he already has. Look at the rosters from his first and second 3-peats. The only constant is Pippen.

Likewise, Fisher is the only constant in Kobe's championships.

You can't have it both ways. Either they can both win with different cores or neither can. But we do know that Jordan can win with lesser talent.

So now Gasol's better than Kobe? LOL. You must really have a deep hatred for Kobe if you actually believe that

Who were all the players that were on the first and second three-peat teams? Anyone other than Scottie?

Correction, the stupidest thing is ur silly personal hatred towards Kobe & the Lakers. You're referencing the Lakers as the ?Fakers? lost you ALL credibility.

Here some of the ridiculous things I've read in this thread:

    A. ?Kobe is a "rapist" (Even though the man was never convicted lol)

    B. Pau Gasol's a future hall of famer (He's not even currently the best at his position, huh?)

    C. ?The Lakers can make the playoffs without Kobe? (But they could BARELY beat us in last years playoff WITH Kobe, yea thats it  )

    D. ?Gasol's actually better tha Kobe now? WOW :(

    E. Kobe benefited from playing on good teams (So did Jordan, Bird, Magic, Kareem any other Hall of famer)

Its obvious you guys HATE Kobe for other reasons. Therefore, you dissect Kobe's career downplaying his greatness. My suggestion is to stop letting your personal emotions cloud your opinions on Kobe.

Whole bunch of interchangeable role players on each of the Bulls team. But they still had Jordan and Pippen. So unlike Kobe, Jordan never had to go thru that rebuilding stage. Which alot of you dont mention
