No big splash but... my guess is Morey will deal for Calderon. He either sends Martin to Toronto or he sends a few of those contracts that are voidable, the ones that aren't guaranteed. Calderon, like Martin, can also be used at the trade deadline. Morey may need Calderon to get to the salary cap floor so he might keep Martin & not match salaries.

What do you guys think? Does anybody still think we get Howard? Orlando knows our offer & they're obviously not interested. My guess is Howard ends up in LA allowing the Rockets to go after Bynum. I think he'll test the market next year if he's dealt to Orlando. I also think Morey offers max money to Harden, if he doesn't sign an extension.

Does any of that make sense?

Next move is to sign the Asik offer sheet.

Why would he send Martin to Toronto for Calderon, thereby decreasing the value of the pick Toronto owes us?

That pick is more valuable than our own team next year at the moment, and as a somewhat disgruntled PG in Toronto, where they just brought in his replacement, I certainly wouldn't give them a competent starting 2 guard that will make them better.

Yeah, seriously, keep Martin's expiring contract for something way more useful than Calderon.

Hopefully up his offer to the next best PG.

Maybe trade Martin to the Hawks for Devin Harris and our picks.

If neither is an option I guess we'll have to roll with the PGs currently at our disposal.

OR to focus on Howard and let someone else (like Orlando?) try to sign Asik to an offer sheet.

ESPN reporting the Kings are looking to trade Jimmer Fredette. Maybe that's Morey's next move. Honestly I can see him being a decent player with the Rockets, as long as he is the team's main scorer and the Rockets desperately need a PG.

    Martin makes a team better?

If we don't get Howard, our 1st round pick is our best asset. We'll be worse than Toronto... guaranteed.

Go all out for someone who is under contract and not wanting to break it to come here... very good suggestion.

Wait, you want someone who has tunnel vision, and shoots 30%, that has free reign, and is not as talented as half our shooters, to be our main offensive weapon, AND be our PG? ......Really?

I don't WANT Jimmer on this team but if the Kings are willing to trade for a 2nd round pick then why not. I'd like to see what he can do with time in the D-League. I know he's overrated but maybe with time, I don't know. I'm just putting it out there.

Exactly. Even if he were a more consistent shooter, someone who's that selfish makes his teammates lazy because they so rarely see the ball.

Yes, that's one fear I have as well turning the rookies and Parsons into catch and shoot players. That's holding back their development.
