    This question has been raised several times before including here on Clutchfans. My own opinion is that I don't think what the views of Jesus, as stated in the Bible, do directly apply to today's political parties.

    I think in the end it is a fruitless effort to consider Jesus as being either a Democrat or Republican. For everything that point's one way there is probably something that points another and also an alternate interpretation.

    We wouldn't be calling him a socialist because he wouldn't be focused on politics at all. Jesus was about changing people not changing political systems.

    If Jesus were alive today, I'm confident that his views on modern politics would be written in red and studied for the next 2,000 plus years.

    If Jesus were alive today I'm guessing most people would think he was a nut.
    There's no shortage of people who claim to be the Messiah, prophet, savior and etc. now.

    I would be more curious about... If Jesus was alive today but is unknown to us that he is Jesus, how would he be treated... by Republican and by Democrat.
