I vote this as best Non Rocket post of this year not written by myself.

You are exactly right. I can't stand Manu Flopnobli. However, I do like the Pistons and Rasheed.

Also the 94 Rockets with Vernon Maxwell and Otis Thorpe would crush the Spurs. Can you imagine if Flopnobli ticked off Vernon??
Bowen is a good defensive player, but Vernon Maxwell held Michael Jordan under his average.

Plus, I'll say that this front line of Dream/Otis/Will Smith is way better than the Pistons or Spurs. They stomp them all and make them look like pancakes fresh from IHOP.

Now I have free time to watch the Chappelle Season 2 dvd.

While Detriot is not my favorites, they have a lot of redeeming qualities.

They have no drimma donna star.

They play great team offense and defense.

Their backcourt, despite not being phenom talented, is tough as nails and gets everything from being savvy and working.

Blue collar machine, I hope they dessimate the overrated Parker and Manu (I think they might) while keeping Duncan somewhat in check on the way to a 4 or 5 game series win.

I totally agree with you. Every point, every possesion, every turnover means something even in the first half.

When both teams don't give a **** about defence and are just running and gunning up and down the court scoring 120 points. A missed free throw or a turnover is usually meaningless even early in the fourth quarter.

I'm with you stong defence is just as fun to watch as good offence if not better.

    I see 3 potential scenarios:

    1) San Antonio brings over its newfound offensive punch while still playing good defense. Possessions are up, so Detroit scores more, too, but can't keep up with SA even to the extent that Phoenix barely did. San Antonio wins.

    2) San Antonio tries to continue to play great offensive, but it isn't so easy against a great defensive team. Offense struggles, and leads to too man easy baskets for the Pistons. Detroit wins.

    3) The slower, methodical, every possesion counts type affair that is the most likely scenario. Both teams are so devastatingly good at this method, the games will be close, but not necessarily "exciting." Who wins?
