Kidd-Gilchrist is in his 7th year and has only attempted 38 three pointers in his career (7 for 38, .184 3pt%) He doesn't really qualify as a 3 and D player or a stretch 4.
I totally forgot to mention that as an exemption for him. He's more of a poor man's Andre Roberson on a worse contract. That's why he's last on my list.
Bradley was considered to be on Pat Bev’s level like 3 years ago. He’s on a bad team but he’s not a bad defender. Barton was decent last year as a wing defender, and could provide a lot of scoring off the bench.
I just think that against the Warriors, it's really difficult to have a guy that they don't have to cover outside of the paint.
Yeah, Avery Bradley was NBA All-Defense First Team in 2016. He's certainly not a bad defender. The issue with the Rockets is that we have a set guard rotation and we're a small team overall. Because of that, adding another guard doesn't help that much. Harden, Paul and Gordon are going to get their minutes. If we add another small guy to the lineup and get even smaller then that would be a problem.
It’s going to be very hard to match up with the Warriors regardless. There’s a reason why MKG is last on my list. However, we also still need to be in a position to reach the western conference playoffs so we can’t be focused only on the warriors.
$6 million is expensive? and a non guaranteed less than $6mil the year after. far from an expensive contract. Extremely cheap actually. that's barely even mid level type
I think Simmons would be the cheapest and easiest to get and would be a solid fit for what we are trying to do.
