Don't sign Barwin and Schaub ... let TJ Yates start at QB (more mobile) and go after a 'top' WR in FA.

Draft another WR & QB in the 1st/2nd round.

Would you be interested in the GM job?

I can grease a few wheels for you.

Trade Ben Tate and J Joseph
    Let Barwin walk
Draft CB, WR, MLB, OL, FB
    Cut Walter
    Need uptempo and 5WR sets
    Allow Schaub more freedom

You're not going to find an upper tier QB in this draft or in FA. So Schaub is the guy for the next few years.

It is a bit disconcerting that we passed on Brees in favor of Carr and Manning in favor of Schaub.

    1) Give Kubiak one more year. (Fire him when we don't win the Superbowl.) I say this because I feel we're stuck with Schaub for at least one more year, and I'd want a new HC to be able to start fresh.
    2) Keep Wade Phillips. The players seem to love him, and we were doing fine until we lost our team MVP Brian Cushing.
    3) Call Chip Kelly about the offensive coordinator position. Even if he never comes close to coming here, it could at least serve to show those within the organization that a change in philosophy is needed.
    4) Get a new Special Teams coach. For the love of god. Please.
    5) Trade Tate. Let Barwin walk. Let Smith walk. Do everything within reason to get rid of Daniels' contract.
    6) Draft DL (I like Bjoern Werner), ILB (Don't know of any off the top of my head, but there are always good LBs coming from the SEC... so do that), and TE (I like the guys out of UCLA and Stanford).
    7) Pray

Am I crazy to expect that Schuab gets us in the endzone when the Specials Teams GIFTS him the ball on the 12.

    END QUARTER 1

    7-3
This was after they had the ball on the 12 yrd line!!!!!
    Defense forced a 3-0
THEY DO NOTHING THE NEXT SERIES
    Defense holds again
THE DO NOTHING THEN GIVE A 29 yrd Punt
    THEN defense gives a touchdown
THEY DO NOTHING THE NEXT SERIES

When you play from in front. . .you call the defense differently
Tell me what did the GREAT SCHAUB AND TEXAN OFFENSE do in the 1st quarter and a half that was worth a D*MN!!

They scored the last half of the 2nd
Then did not do SH** until basically the game was out of hand

I've thought about this a lot the last few days. I would be possibly interested in Alex Smith but the only option I see is trading up a little and drafting Matt Barkley.

I want to see one of the following happen:

    1) Kubiak changes the offense to be more reflective of today's game, more timing passes, quicker tempo, higher risk-reward ratio, etc.

    2) Kubiak drafts (or signs) a dynamic QB that will allow his current offense to have a few more wrinkles in its current form.

In scenario 1, I give Schaub a shot to prove himself, but I don't bank on him winning the job long term. In scenario 2, Schaub is gonezo altogether.

I still think it is possible for the Texans to win a Superbowl with Kubiak and Schaub, however, the chance I give them now is less than what I gave them before. Lesser to the extent that I am not comfortable with the odds moving forward with Schaub under center and the current offensive system in place. We COULD win, but our defense and running game have to be so good that I find it less likely than I have in the past. This is especially true with teams like New England, Green Bay, etc. floating around that will absolutely smoke us in the playoffs. I don't want to wait for the right matchups to align for us to have a better chance at winning.
