Morey said he considered Harden to be a foundation piece. I think that means he views him as an important part of the puzzle. I don't see anything wrong with that statement, and I don't see where Morey is implying Harden is going to be the next Lebron.

 

James Harden is 23.

Battier had no upside coming to the Rockets. The move was to complement Tmac and Yao and not to wait around for a player like Rudy Gay to develop.

Harden has gobs of upside coming to Houston. The Rockets still have flexibility and have a player that's so young that he's younger than some of the prospects they have on the team right now.

Best year as a pro? Yeah, his 3rd year as a pro playing a 6th man role.

 

Morey believes Harden was already playing at an all-star level at age 22, and that means he has the potential to become a superstar.

I think I'm being conservative in saying that he will average 22 pts a game while still being one of the most efficient sgs in the league. And if he becomes a volume shooter and forgets about efficiency, he can be a top 5 scorer in the league.
