If you forward a movie from points A to B , point B is happening sooner than it would have normally. If you go back from points A to C, point C is happening later than it would have normally.

You got your time management certificate from Trump University, huh?

The time in the movie is moving forward. From, say, 1:00 to 1:30. Or in OP's example, from 12:00 to 14:00.

The certificate was not from Trump U, sir. It was a TABC certificate saying that I could sell beer and wine while I worked at Bucees.

Same thing. If I move a box forward, it gets further away from me.

    NO. This is all no.

Movie time is irrelevant. YOUR time matters.

You are still in the same time, whether you go back or forward. Time does not change. The time of the event changes.

    The enemy's gate is down.

Forward, back is just a arbitrarily chosen construct. Moving a meeting back 2 hours from 12 is 2pm. As such, moving it forward 2 hours has to be 10am whether or not one thinks it should intuitively be reversed. People have chosen what back means such that its inverse, forward, has to be the opposite.

Alright this actually makes sense to me. I don't like it, but I get it. If I were here for a rational discussion, I would be swayed.

However this is the internet, and I choose to double-down on my original position rather than change. Further, I declare that all who disagree with me are stupid and evil.

Then you should probably read this book. Electronic version as the pages might be heavy for you.

Shouldn't be a problem as long as you drive a DeLorean.

If you ask for the time in Massachusetts and someone tells you it's 5 of 3, then you ask them to clarify if that's before or after and they say "awv" with an impatient look on their face, who does Ben Affleck cast in the film he directs about you drowning them in the Chuck?
