a simple piercing is one thing because you can take them out and no one can tell. Gauges, however, is something that seems pretty ridiculous...espectially those guys that get the huge ones. Sure, it's cool for now (debatable), but how the hell are you ears going to look when youre 35, 45, 55, 65?
THIS is exactly how you shouldn't live your life. You don't know if you'll be dead tomorrow- Carpe Diem. As long as it's not irresponsible, meaning effecting your ability to provide for your family or sacrificing your health, I say go for it. I do think the gauges look silly, but to each their own.
yeah, i'm pretty sure when Horace said carpe diem he didnt have a person putting huge holes in his ears. and yes, it atually could effect the ability to provide for your family because, like it or not, people will judge
I'm not arguing with you- It depends on your industry. I know a metal worker who makes a decent living with six kids and has guages and tattoos up and down his body. Not everyone is white collar. And if you choose that route, it's up to you to either not give a damn about what people think or find a way to change perceptions.
well if you want to point to one particular random experience, I know a guy who got them in college...a few years later, he regretted everyminute of it. I'm not arguing either, but it IS a big decision and carpe diem or not, you have to look at the big picture here. Gauges just shouldnt be taken likely. Hell, the OP doesnt even have regular ear rings yet. At least ease into the ear jewelry thing with those
Actually, I had both of my ears pierced, twice on each side, just after graduating high school...in 1993. Didn't realize it was still a thing to do.
This. I used to rock diamonds in platinum settings in both ears but you have to grow up one day. I ended up giving them to my mom
I swear some peoples lives would be so much better if they stopped caring what other people thought of them.
