easy I trade Ralph Sampson for the chicago first round pick and I select Hakkem and MJ. i do not pick Rodney McCray but get the best playmaker available. Rocket win at least 6 Championships
Have Morey available back in time many years earlier (as a GM in the 80s/90s)and part of the rockets organization then. The Rockets, except when drafting REALLY high, were really a relatively poor organization at evaluating and drafting talent in the 80s/90s. They did pretty well by trade, but weren't so astute in overall talent evaluation and use of draft picks.
Man you kno if we had jordan their would be more dvds of the rockets and when they have Viewin parties n open paractices,we would b able 2 take pics w/8 trophies n all that
I get your point and you make sense you kno what I'm sayin, but the question was, what wld We change 4rm the past, and since we kno what jordan brought, don't you think it would've Been more histerical if we had him?I'm jus sayin
Drexler was talking to Worrell about this during one of their broadcasts sometime ago. If this happened I wonder how the other NBA teams would react. Anti trust lawsuits perhaps to break that dynasty which could have lasted more than a decade?
personal yeah it just felt it was a big signing a legit backup to Dream and it weakened the jazz but then he proceed to suck balls here
I think many people are forgetting that we would have gotten Damon Stoudemire for Willis, Elie, someone and Rodrick Rhodes. We did not want to trade Rhodes because the management thought he was our FUTURE!!!!! For sure, we should have been in the finals with Barkley, Hakeem and Drexler!!!!
I will win the Texas lottery 10 times and then purchased the Rockets from Charlie Thomas before Les did.
I hate when people who are rocket fans who say we could have drafted jordan its like dude, if you watched hakeem, you really don't care. I guess i can understand if you were young and didn't get to see hakeem's career evolve, but I'm quite happy with what I got to see
i have a feeling Jordan/Drexler/Hakeem would still be Jordan's team. imagine the triangle with those 3.
Bingo! I think some people forget that Seattle completely owned the Rockets in the years before we got Barkley...and he changed all that. I did hate having to give up Cassell though.
That would have given them absolutely no bench, likely leading to further injuries to Barkley and Olajuwon and probably keeping them from making the playoffs. On the flipside, a lottery pick could have come in handy. The real tragedy of the Stoudamire debacle was alienating Elie. You can't help but wonder how he would have influenced the '99 squad. Would Pippen have melted down sooner, or would he have tried harder to make things work? The Rockets very well could have won another title that year, maybe even still going into 2000 with a lineup of Olajuwon/Barkley/Pippen/Mobley/Francis.
