    NICE (link by chance)

Head was already signed for one thing, not coming up to a new contract and plus Head wasnt this good.

Mason jr. was a free agent back in july so they kinda knew what he could but he got better with PT, like wafer is. he is getting 3 plus mil by the way for 2 years

and yes the mid level exception is what i was thinking, i think some teams would offer him that, thxs oognastasheo

2mil per year for 2yrs with player's option for 3rd year would be fair for the team and von wafer.

if he becomes an amazing backup at SG, he'd definitely opt out, but at least we get first crack at signing him. we could probably sign him after that for long term contract like 3.5-4m or even full MLE for 5yrs.

if he doesnt pan out, and he decides to pick up the player option for the 3rd year, 2mil wouldnt be hard to absorb or trade in a deal.

id say that we extend him NOW. while he's still grateful for houston giving him chance to play. dont wait until the offseason when some team offers him a ridiculous contract.

Wafer fits on this team, but I am not sure he would be doing near as well on most other teams.

He needs someone to take the pressure off of him and give him space to use his speed.

Uh, if he continues to drop 20 a night, I think he'd be worth more than an MLE.
If you were to assume that Wafer is legit at the level he's playing at, he'd be a future star and be worth big bucks.

Ha, the Rockets are kicking themselves for not signing this guy to a longer contract, but who could have known? Also, I don't want to be gloom and doom, but he's going to cash in big time if he continues to play like this, and that's what's frightening. He could be our long term answer (sorry Tracy) or he could become the next bad contract that weighs this team down for the next five years.

Oh, who do the Rockets jettison, so they can resign this guy? Oh, that's who.
