The reward of retaining Hill, Bud and Scola is much greater than that of receving Oden. He may become the Grant Hill of centers in the league, even earlier.

I understand that Patterson deal because we don't know what he offers immediately, but we do know that Scola is one of the few dependable power forwards who can shoot left in the league.

I, for one, hope Scola is kept in a Rockets uni with Bosh coming. You can't give that talent up....and yes, I'm biased as a Rockets fan. :)

Perhaps we should ditch Yao Ming since he's had a history of injuries and he missed the whole year last year. Plus he's like 7 years older than Oden and has chronic foot problems "I don't think you ever fully recover from those types of consecutive injuries." Lets see if Portland will trade us Dante Cunningham for Yao

HELL yes IF our doctors looks him over first, and don't see any other signs of stress or damage that may progressively worsen.

Greg Oden started looking good last year, he stopped picking up quick stupid fouls, he was blocking everything in sight it seemed! Unfortunately that was only for a short period of time because he went down pretty early in the season. I want a defender off the bench, not a scorer, I want a Dikembe Mutombo coming off our bench to reject orange spheres into the crowd.

Pritchard drafted him #1. There's a new regime, making it easier to part ways. It would at least be worth a phone call; with Camby in the fold, you would think Portland would be shopping one of its injured centers.

It's probably a good thing Oden is not part of this free agent frenzy, however. Image the conflict Morey would feel over whether he should sext him as part of the recruiting process.

Why not make a run at Tony Boselli while we are at it?

Oden injuries are freak accident. I mean he is injury prone but if he manages to stay healthy and the Rockets are paying him a rookie contract, he be well worth it. Limiting his minutes behind Yao ming would be great. He would be a defensive monster. But Oden is not going to be happy playing as a back up center though.

He gets a season-ending injury every single season. DO NOT WANT. Maybe if we signed him for $5.
