I forgot that no one's political thoughts or feelings are relevant here because we all like Houston Rockets basketball. It makes total sense!

Secret service might be perfectly capable of stopping any attempts but that doesn't mean there won't be attempts. You don't have go far to find people who think Obama deserves to die (just watch the campaign clips again). Due to the history of this country and the availability of guns, it is very possible for some lunatics to make an attempt (I hope the secret service is really as good some of you think they are these days, this country cannot afford another crisis at a time like this.

No but the McCain-Palin disgraceful campaign increased the chances of attempts.

We never hear about them but it would surprise me if every president didn't have some attempt on his life, however poorly thought out or executed.

come one. the election is over. McCain lost. When you say something like that it sounds like you might be insinuating that McCain wants Obama dead.

This is more likely if he takes courageous stands against corporate and bank interests more than his race or his race policies.

    Yep.

Many people seem to feel more strongly about their money than they do about...well, anything.

I wouldn't put past the interests in the trillions of dollars to be above a president.

But I'm not pinning my hopes on Obama to be a great reformer of corruption that's occurring beyond an imaginable scale. He hasn't indicated he will and it's better to keep expectations low.
