Nobody expected September 11th, while Hussein had nothing to do with that I felt Bush's stated objection to "nation building" was earnest enough that anyone voting for him or implicitly against Gore was doing so with other issues or sentiments on their mind than a prospective invasion of Iraq. I think Bush earnestly believed he was going to be another Reagan without the overhang of a Democrat majority or the Cold War, which would have allowed him to cut taxes and fight abortion and gay rights 24/7.

He won't drop out, nobody ever would once they monopolize all the donations and remove the risk of a campaign bankruptcy. There'd need to be some weird family issue or the risk of losing future patronage jobs from alienating party bosses.

Two big-money donors who have given or raised tens of thousands of dollars for Donald Trump are asking for their money back, according to a bundler who raised money for Trump.

The long-time Republican bundler, who has raised money in Florida, Ohio, Los Angeles and in the Northeast, said that he is ashamed of his solicitations of cash for Trump, adding that he raised money for him as recently as last week. The bundler said that the videotape pushed him and donors over the top, but the dissatisfaction had been building. He will now focus his fundraising efforts on electing Republicans to the House and the Senate
