If Camby is gone for the season, then what about Jason Collins?

    We don't need another backup center. We already have Asik, Smith, or D-Mo/Jones.

    Then why did we sign Camby to begin with? Wasn't it as an insurance policy, and to put us in a better bargaining position if we felt we needed to trade Omer half way through the season?

    I thought we had so many backup C's just in case one of them got hurt. Camby's the one who got hurt, so the others will take his slot.

    Yes, it would be a good idea. He's no Marcus Camby, but he would be okay as a 3rd center. He's still a veteran after all.

    Yes, but it's before the season has started, and the insurance policy is in all likelihood null and void. Wouldn't it be prudent to get a new one. If it was in the summer, it should be now.

    Now look I know that in their primes Camby was the better player. But Collins is a lot closer to his prime. Before Camby's injury, I think they were pretty equivalent players.

    I don't think it would be necessary unless Asik gets flipped. In that case taking a Dwight-specialist away from other squads would be a great move.
